I had plans to go for a long trip over thanksgiving (because we know the forest will be empty)

Typically i storm chase all winter. Trying to be up there during every storm that i can.

Can make an exception to celebrate some old farts birthday even if its not raining/snowing

Thought so. It didn’t look that rocky from the time we went.

Yeah, first tine i went through it 4lo was helpfull. Now its a 2wd bump in the road lol (granite i still use 4lo just to creep)

I guess as a PSA: forest service plans to start rebuilding the bridge this fall. They will likely be closing the road at the first bridge. So, will need to use one of the alternate routes into the greater bowman area. Exact dates are unknown, info relayed to me by a Nevada Irrigation District employee

Is that at canyon creek? Forest service page says road is closed there. That usually just means there's a challenge there to hammer down.

Yeah, been "closed" for a season or two. But if they close it at the 1st bridge... Well thats going to be a much gnarlier hammer

There is a local Indian tribe near me that works with usfs and closes roads. They tried to hire me five years in a row for that job. The usfs has 31 major roads that will be closed this year and 39 next year. Just be sure the idea of a new bridge isn't a ploy to keep us off public lands.
I can't work for some one that didnt fight hard enough to keep their land and now intends to use our government to keep us off of it.

The idian tribe tride to hire me as a foreman and equipment operator to close roads for the forest service. According to everything g I was taught about America and our rights as americans I can't work for that organization performing those tasks.
