What's up. I just finished my PreRunner to 4WD conversion and I was wondering if there are any good trails in the East Bay to test it out. Any recommendations?

Not doing any insane wheeling, just looking for some easy trails to drive on.

Oh, and anyone know of any beaches that you can drive on as well?

East Bay specifically Hayward - I'm right outside of Oakland.

Thanks. Still needs a few things (belly skids, proper rear bumper), but she gets the job done.

there like parks. show up pay $5 enter park.
some have larger 4x4 areas all have moto cross and atv tracks . the only wheeling really in the winter in CA that's open without risking fines

Ah I see. Saw bunch of talk about red stickers or something upon googling CA SVRA's and got confused.

Do I need a GPS to run these trails?

    lol , no
there all really small. Hollister is got the most for 4x4 trials. if you set a date I'm sure you can find a few other guys to show you around.
Pismo is fun but its a little drive for you. lots of sand dunes and you can cruze the beach.

I wish there were beaches you can drive on up here in the Bay. Is Pismo the only one?

Asking my buddy with a Tahoe to come with me, lol. He's helping me tow the $600 '98 v6 Manual Tacoma with 400,000 miles I'm buying this Sunday. Unfortunately my 4 Cyl isn't beefy enough to tow a flatbed with another Tacoma on it.

Awesome. Think I'll drive over there next weekend with my buddy.

I really wish we had public beaches we can drive on here...

Welcome to comifornia . cant do shit here.
the only other beaches I no that you can drive on are way up north.
bay area is really limited to legal wheeling if any.
but for testing grounds Hollister has everything from fire roads to rock crawler. mud pits that will kill any 4x4 and puddles for the girls. even a decent hill climb.

Niiiice, I was up there once for a quality snow trip, but the snow has eluded me every time since. I expect it to be pretty dry this weekend.

I'm reading that the "forest seasonal closures" take effect from jan 1 - april 1 so maybe you missed some locked gates by a week or so. Then again, i dont recall any gates along 18/bowman lake road but i'm probably wrong. Hopefully all goes well, I'll report back with success or failure.

    Just gunna send it

remember that not all roads that close have gates. if you care about a ticket you may want to call and check if unsure, if you don't then report back. I have broken this rule many times never been caught but it would suck to get one. just don't post pics on public forms of evidence that can be used against you. dam social media is killin it for us, we cant get away with anything these days.

There's no gates to get there from north or south.
During fire restriction time period, that area has fire ring around there, so burning is allowed.
Unlike my 1st home area Downieville.

I don't remember anytime that Bowman rd has ever closed, or that side road.

    Best to always chech though.

Edit... other then the south side due to bridge collapsed.
