2018 OR Transfer Case Replacement

Have a front end noise that centers around 11mph, a medium-high pitched 'whom-whom-whom-whom', one per second. Happens all the time, but is louder on an incline, and you can hear it over the radio when pulling a trailer. Took it to the dealer, drove around with the tech, couple days of diagnosis and talking with corporate led them to order a new transfer case. Experience has been good, communication good....said they would take care of it, no problems. Just posting in case someone else has a similar noise. I'll reply when I know it fixed the problem.

Did they say exactly where or what failed in the transfer case?

They didn't say, but I expect to hear more when I go back. Communication so far has been daily, but only about what's going on and what they're doing to fix it.

 

They didn't say much, "premature failure of transfer case". Doesn't make the noise anymore, problem solved.
