I have owned 6 toyotas in the past 12 years. I've had the Taoma for 4 months and now have to pay to replace wiring harness due to Toyotas decision to use rodent food (soy) as covering for wiring. Wish I could get out of this lease now. Any ideas on best way to prevent this from happening again other than tape dealer is suggesting?

File a comp claim on your insurance. If your auto comprehensive coverage doesn't cover rodent damage like this find a new company asap.

Other than that examine the surroundings that your truck is kept in and take preventative measures. Getting chewed through in 4 months definitely not normal.

I have owned 1 Toyota in the past 13 years and can afford to fix some wiring. Can’t put my thumb on your issue...

Welcome to TW! Sadly soy-based wiring is found in most, if not all, vehicles now.
