Been trying to do my homework in prep for installing some raptor led lights in my grille. Thought I had read you cant "add-a-fuse" into the DRL circuit in the fuse box, but you could splice into the wiring? That true?

Anyway, popped the lid on the fuse panel under the hood and noticed my lid diagram shows a fuse slot for "DLR" and that its supposed to be a 10A fuse. However, there is no fuse in the slot. I see some slots on the diagram have a slash through them, I presumed to mean "unused" on this trim. But since the diagram states a 10A fuse should be used, I'm confused there isnt one.

    1. Can any other SR5 owner take a peek and see if they have a 10A fuse in this slot?
    2. Pretty sure my DRL work as they're supposed to. Doesn't make sense with a fuse missing?

I just checked mine and I don’t have a fuse there either and my DRL work no problem. I wonder if that 10A slot is for the DRL on the pro that have them in the head lights just a thought. I’m sure someone else will know

Thanks for checking @Dave3359 ! Hmm, interesting observation about the Pro... like you said, perhaps someone who knows the Pros well can chime in. I wonder if in our SR5, is that slot dead? Hot all the time? Havnt had a chance to put a voltmeter on it.

Can any Pro owners, or fuse box pros, chime in regarding the "DRL" fuse slot in the fuse panel?

I have a 19 sport and I have a 10 amp fuse in that spot but when I put the fuse tap to connect my raptor lights they stay on regardless of whether the truck is on or off. Still tinkering around.

My 18 sr has the regular halogen light bulbs for the headlights. I added grill lights and tried to tap into the drl fuse, which there was a fuse added for some reason, but it’s hot and live all the time. I’ve considered using an alligator clip onto the drl power wire but it’s prob going to fall off. So I tapped the drl lights to the low beam fuse.

That slot is for the LED DTRL.

You have incandescent Turn bulbs which are also the DTRL.

Any progress on this? Got some grill lights for my stock grill and want to try them with the DRL’s, but also found the fuse slot to be always hot.

am Pro grille w/lights, black tailgate letters, black badging, 265-70-17 Duratrac "c", Rear seat platform,
I'm running in to the same issue. I just replaced my peeling "chrome" grille with one of the Pro style grilles with lights. I have a 2017 Sport and that 10amp DRL fuse is always hot. I'm currently hooked into the HL fuse so they only come on with the HLs. I would prefer to have them on with my DRLs or my running lights. Looking for a simple solution that doesn't require a separate dash switch. [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Purchase parts and assemble, then install.

The advice I hear is to tap into the INJ fuse. Raptor lights will be on anytime the truck is on. I have a 21 SR5 and have done this with no problems as a result.

    None

Was anyone else able to confirm this? Is that fuse in the engine bay fuse box?
