I can def get you a better price on lift and install than what they will charge you.

This entire thread makes no sense...

Why does anyone need automatic braking and cruise control to begin with? Oh yeah... cause texting and driving. That's why.

45K is too much for that 17. Go back to the part where I said to buy a new 2018 Pro for that and call it good.

Hell yea, brother. Just cause I can. Actually, it will be for occasional light/medium offroading and winter trips in heavy snow up to my vacation pad in the Sierra Nevada. But mostly because I just feel like doing it and I like the way it looks.

I know that this lift and tire size isn't popular on TW, but I couldn't give two f**ks, LOL. :)

Is that the delay? Perhaps most dealerships do not have the equipment from Toyota to complete the recalibration? While it looks simple enough (a mirror?) maybe getting techs through training on using it is a hold up as well? It does seem there is light at the end of the tunnel, gauging when it will be available is the tougher one.

The equipment is an essential tool and is required if your a Toyota dealer. Techs are trained to perform but will not do the procedure on a lifted vehicle (liability and job lose).

Ok, I volunteered to be a lab rat and I am a man of my word. So, as a new owner of a 2018 Tacoma DCSB 4x4 with a 6 inch lift and 35 tires, I can confirm that the Toyota Safety Sense stuff works just fine.

So far I have used the parking sensors, the rear cross traffic alert, the adaptive cruise control, and even had the emergency braking smoothly engage during traffic in rain. It all works. And this is with the stock grille and sensor location AFTER being lifted 6+ inches (both lift and tires).

    It's all good.

I will be changing out my stock '18 grille to the Pro grille which lowers the sensor location back down a bit more. But it all works fine at this current height.

Thank you, sir. Much appreciated. It turned out better than I thought. I am relieved the TSS stuff works well, too! These 2018's are sweet.

    Any plans for yours?

not sure exactly. bouncing around between king/bds 6 in or icon. I run mostly highway and put 32k miles and more on mine commuting. Don't off road enough to even change it from factory but like you I like the looks.

friend of mine has the icon 4 lift and extra spring and t really looks good and rides and drives better than stock. So I am leaning that way for all my commuting. I might go King adjustable ext which I hear is great too. my order got messed up so had to reorder and still don't have allotment for it so not sure when now ill get one unless I go different color or configuration. If I went White I can get one real fast. Or if I wanted a pro there is a couple on ground near me I could get now in calvary.

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with any of those options. They will all function well and look great. Can't wait to see it, brother!

your going to like that bds lift. it is a great lift. How does it ride? I know with those tires it is probably little stiffer. Guy that works at place that works on our big rigs at work has 17 tundra with 7 in bds and has had it on for a year and 30k miles and it is great. He switched his tires about 5k ago and went from MTs to Nitto Ridge Grapplers and it really good ride.
