2018 Tacoma Paint defect (White)

I've heard on various posts that there is a relatively common paint defect of shrinking and peeling on White Tacoma trucks. Is this correct, and more importantly does Toyota acknowledge and make repair to paint?

yes it is correct

to my recollection, no they do not acknowledge it as an issue for Tacomas, but other models with the same paint they will take care of. That might have changed recently, but there's a whole thread on here somewhere about us SuperWhite tacoma owners not being able to get it taken care of by the dealer.

My 2014 has peeling around the window edges and at the roofline where it meets the windshield. I just take care not to pressurewash those areas.

 

Peel yes, but not because of shrinking. And all models, not just trucks.

They acknowledge all models except Tacoma's.

You 'might' get a repair if you have a nice dealer and are still under warranty
