Did it take time? Spent 4 hours at the dealership today with this problem and they said they fixed it. On the way home the truck would track to the right if I let go of steering wheel.

This happened a lot on my old Honda that I paid $2700 so I didn't care. Now a 30K+ brand new vehicle less than 5k miles? That shouldn't happen in my mind.

^ That shouldn't happen. One of the first things I noticed about my truck is how it tracks dead-straight on the highway. If the dealer can't correct it, ask around for the best alignment guy in your area and have him look at it. Won't cost you more than $100.

Took me time to figure out it was Fubar. The new truck honeymoon had to wear off.

Dealer checked it, agreed with me, and fixed it right away (truck was with them for a day). Didn’t cost me anything.

Fact is, cost has no bearing on what you get from the factory. A work associate, who’s a British expat, bought a brand new Range Rover, for $75k, and the thing came with leaking shocks, and only the left channel working on the stereo. Shit happens at all price points.

When I go back on Wednesday this will be the 3rd time trying to get this corrected. I did put on new tires but I paid for an alignment at that time. They told me today the truck kept going out of alignment after being aligned.

I have been told there are wear items that will change the alignment of a new vehicle as they seat themselves. However, if things do not stabilize, that sounds like a problem with the steering rack or something else. Maybe there is play in something that should never have play.

I will be as persistent as possible to have this corrected. I just think a brand new truck should track true when not holding the steering wheel. I have to constantly be keeping it going straight which is a hassle and can be dangerous in my eyes.

I hope it works out for you. Toyota did manage to solve my issue.

I recall a thread on this forum stating that some tire brands pull one way or another due to the assymetrical design of the tread. What tires do you have?

Got a 2018 DCSB Taco and loving every mile of it. I keep hearing about people complain about the nav and technology of the truck, but I honestly feel like they're top dollar quality. Probably because I upgraded from an 2009 Tacoma equipped with absolutely nothing and now I'm extremely grateful for all the things in the 2018 model. I have an AT and have absolutely no problem with it. The rated average mpg for the TRD Sport model is 21, but my last tank mpg was shown to be 27. The TSS wasn't much of a "Oh, I gotta get that", but it's nice to have. The radar cruise control is a little awkward to get used to because I personally like to drive the car. The leg room in the back is great from what I heard from many of my friends. Really, I have nothing to complain about this truck. I loved my 2nd gen Tacoma dearly and I'm enjoying this 3rd gen a little too much.

Why don’t you like them for the off road?

They hang low, if you take them on anything over than gravel roads, they'll probably get bent and possibly cause damage to your truck.

I'm liking my new 2018 TRD 4wd dcsb 6mt. I drive 70 miles a day for work. If I keep my foot out of it, I get right at 20 mpg. Can't wait to drag my little boat around.

I hate the adaptive cruise control. I freaking dread it. Wish I could permanently disable it.

Thankfully I found that if you hold the cruise on/off button for about 3-5 seconds you get the traditional cruise.

I also had a chance to test out the auto bright lights....pretty cool, works great. Used it on my trip on a two lane two way winding road.

That's nuts. I don't have much of a freeway commute so my putting around town is squarely at 17.5 MPG in my dclb auto off-road 4x4. I wish I got 27! Wonder what I'm doing wrong.

This is my 5th Taco. Started out with a 2005 regular cab 2wd no frills. Traded it in for a 2007 pre runner with a locker. That didn’t last long after going to Gorman. Next two Tacos were OR’s, 2008, 2012. Now it’s the 2018 SR5 4x4.

Alls I can say is I’m super stoked and energized to be driving the ‘18. TSS is great. Saved me in traffic already as I wasn’t paying attention for a moment. As mentioned, the dynamic cruise control is dynamite. I feel the 3.5 is more responsive and does seem to have a strong sack. Dig driving corners. Out of the turn with a little gas and it gets going nicely. Starting the engine sounds throaty, my favorite. I agree with the member who said it sounds like a diesel. I thought the same.

Do you still get TSS with the manual transmission? Do you have all the same exact features if so? With the manual, it seems I avoid the problems with the auto tranny but I still may have howling diff issues? Is that issue pretty serious? Is Toyota dealing with it?

My next truck is going to be a weekend truck as I have a small car for my daily commute. So I want a truck that I can keep for around 10 years or more (hopefully). I'm thinking a gen 2 or gen 3 TRD OR DC with the manual for long term reliability. Also, on the 3rd gen, I can't get a manual with the DC long bed. Does anyone know if it was possible to get a manual in the gen 2 with the DC long bed configuration?

Finally raining here in Southern Cal, dang. I got a chance and tried TRAC off on 4H. The system comes back on/off at 33mph. I thought I read 30 in the manual.

This was nice too see and quite a shocker.

TSS is on the 2018 Manuals too. No Manual long bed double cab in 2nd Gen either.
