I went from a F150 to a Tacoma and I love the truck but the seats are killing me. They hurt my butt and lower back. I’ve tried adjusting them every which way and can’t find any custom seats unless they are racing seats.

Maybe some spacers in the rear will help with your butt/back problems without breaking the bank. However, some have swapped out factory seats for 8 way power seats.

I think there was a Lexus seat sweep on here. With a pretty detailed write up.

Some guys add 1 inch spacers to lift the rear of the seats, if I were to add spacers to my truck I would add them to the front because the seats are like a sliding board as it is.

Some people have had the bottom seat cushion reworked.

This is probably obvious, but have you tried adjusting your lumbar support knob?

I have back problems and I don't think our seats are overly uncomfortable. I recently did a 600 mile trip and I have no complaints.

The problem with the spacers is I don't want to sit higher than I already am. My vision is somewhat limited by the rear view mirror and I feel like sitting an inch taller would make visibility worse.

I added Clazzio seat covers and they add a small layer of cushion within the cover. I noticed a slight improvement after installing the Clazzios.

You could just stack some washers to see if it will help. Essentially do the same thing

You can run over to Lowe’s and buy these spacers/hardware to do the seat lift. No wait time and you’ll see if this will help you. I grabbed the hardware in this video

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KcfH-RDPdsI

I’m not knocking or trying to take away business from any members here, I’m just saying you can run to the store, do the swap, and in 30mins you’ll know if the spacer seat mod will help

I’m with you OP. Went from a 2013 f150 to 2018 taco. The captains chairs in my f150 felt like a plush recliner. I’m not sure how to fix your problem but it does speak wonders to how comfortable the f150 was

This is my one major complaint of the tacoma, the seats. While not uncomfortable to the point where I bitch about it, but uncomfortable enough for me mention it here and there.

I feel like I lounge, not sit. And I find myself scooching my butt back all the time. They aren’t the best but not the worst. To put it into perspective, to the ones that say ... it’s a 30k truck, what do you expect? ... my 30k 2015 Dodge Charger and old 23k 2015 Dodge Dart makes the seating in my Tacoma look and feel archaic. There is so much Toyota could have done to make them better but chose not to. But ya know, we test drove them, we bought them, we have to deal with it the best we can however that may be.

Extended test drive didn’t reveal the seat issues for me. Was initially happy with the seats until some long drives. Found myself squirming around in the seat, desperately searching for a way to get comfortable. My issue is that the steering wheel doesn’t telescope far enough out, so I have to slide my seat closer to the wheel to make up for that. When I slide my seat closer, my knees his the dash and the keys jingle-jangle on my knees. So I’m left with either sitting further back, but have the back of the seat angled at 90 degrees (uncomfortable) or deal with the strain of having to lean forward a bit and take an ibuprofen.

What kind of body is that seat working with? I’ve experienced the opposite with long distance driving. Overall, for me, Toyota and Lexus seats don’t make my ass numb or fall asleep. But, my body is pretty Asian-like and could be matched more appropriately to Yota/Lexus seats. The F150 was 3x the size and width, probably designed for a more American corn fed body shape.
