One guy, last year, worked really hard and retrofitted the Lexus seats. I have no clue how clean the install was or the functionality afterwards. As far as I know that is the only seat retrofit besides those who install race seats for pure off road use.

The seats are also a hang up for me in the Tacoma. I have done a couple of short test drives and I’m not a huge fan of the seats. I’ll have to take longer test drives, looking for a manual.

I’m also have a 13 F150, I love the seats, nice and tall, tons of adjustability.

There must be a certain sweet spot body wise that fits the Tacoma seats because I find them completely comfortable - would love some power adjustments to fine tune, but otherwise good. 5'10" 190lbs, 32" inseam here

Katzkin is replacement not a cover. Cloth gets ripped out and replaced with the leather. Seems a lot more difficult than adding something like Clazzio. Not something I'd care to tackle but since you did that for a living I guess you have better skills in that area.

Yes they are a replacement. Clazzios are a cover. Replacing the seat material isn’t too hard if you have done it before. You can find online places that sell them for both brands. With a how to they aren’t too hard, even not knowing what your doing you could figure it out pretty quick. But I agree, more work the is worth. Both will look pretty close to the same unless you got a truly custom seat cover replacement. Helped my father in his upholstery shop every summer for as long as I can remember and upholsterers hate putting in pre-made covers.
