I've been lurking here for a while, proud to say I am finally a Taco owner! Can anyone recommend some 16" black rims to replace the stock that my ride came with? Someday I may upgrade the tires but for now i'm looking specifically for something with about a 1.5"-2" offset, just like spacers would do and to be able to use my existing P245/75R16 tires. Does that sound right? I'm not off-roading and the tires are brand spanking new, mine as well use em, right? Really hoping for some reply's here, fire away...

Welcome to TW and congrats on the truck. You can look at the Black TRD Pro 16" wheels as they would probably work.

Thank you! I'm so noob... do those include that offset look I'm looking for? Is that something that's hard to find? Am I looking for something i'm never going to find? I guess i'd like to add, I'm just looking for a slightly beefier look/mean stance for my truck. KInd of on a budget but i'll gladly take any and all recommendations here...

Not sure about your specific offset but if i am not mistaken they add about an inch in the front and rear track width

First off, welcome to the forum. Now, what's your budget? Method makes some really nice looking wheels in my opinion.

Tell me if I'm nuts but would staying under $1000 (and possibly include tires) be impossible for that mean stance that i'm looking for? I'm already floored by your responses here, sincerely thank you. As a Harley owner (and forum participator) as well, it's always cool to get sucked into a forum like this...

I honestly feel like this could be a sticky thread unto itself moderators, if it isn't already. There are probably 100's of new owners that are looking for exactly what I am but have NO clue where to begin. A meaner stance upgrade to a stock SR5. Is it unrealistic for me to think i'll achieve this look with my stock 245 width tires?

Better bury your wallet hanging around here! There are good deals on wheels here in the classified section from time to time. The problem is being in the same zip code as the seller because shipping can kill the deal on heavy items. You can get a nice set of wheels for under $1000 (there's a set of Methods on here now in Canada for $800) but that is just the wheels w/o tires. Good hunting and post pics when you get them mounted up.

You will have to search it out because I'm too lazy right now but I think the fj cruiser black trail teams wheels look great on Tacoma, might actually get a set myself at some point.

Welcome to the forum! There are a lot of choices in wheel upgrades. A few things to remember:

    1. Price wise, you get the quality you pay for.

    2. If you are looking for an aggressive stance, negative offsets = more poke, positive offsets will pull the wheels in under the wheel well.

Thanks for the clarification. I'm toying with the plasti-dip idea and spacers and I see there are a quite a few posts on those specific topics here. Thank you again...

    Stock for. Ow
Those would be scs Ray 10’s. The downside to those is catching them in stock. They literally are it of stock in minutes.

Looks like that truck is running 255/85/16s or a skinny 33.

Typical 33s put you to needing a cab mount chop, at the minimum. But I’ve seen some post on here of 3rd gens not having to do a cmc if they do pizza cutters (255’s). Not sure if those trucks have rubbing issues off-road though

Offset means nothing without rim width.

    Stock wheel is a 16x7 +25mm, 5" backspace

7" rim width would need -12mm for 1.5" poke and -25mm for 2" poke
7.5" rim width would need -6mm for 1.5" poke and -18mm for 2" poke
8" rim width would need 0mm for 1.5" poke and -12mm for 2" poke
8.5" rim width would need +6mm for 1.5" poke and -6mm for 2" poke
9" rim width would need +12mm for 1.5" poke and 0mm for 2" poke

8" rim width is your best bet.
Everything else is a goofy size and offset with no choices available.

soooo splitbot.... just to be clear by "poke" you mean the distance the wheel sticks out from the fender? picking up the lingo slowly...

Yes. The distance it protrudes outwards versus stock; not necessarily passed the fender.
That's just the wheel and stock 245 tires.
If you decide to get 265s later, the tire will poke an additional 1/2"; 285s will poke an additional 1".
