2018 TACOMA VINYL DOOR FABRIC RIPPED

Was putting stuff in my back seat and to cut the chase this happened, tried super glueing the flap piece back down but so unsatisfied. Any suggestions? Does this piece pop off easily?

I bought a vinyl repair kit when I accidentally poked a hole in my boat seat cover. It worked “OK”. Not perfect, but it is secure.

Given my experience, my guess is your best bet is to look for a replacement door panel insert as no repair will look perfect.

On second gens that piece (on the driver door) was a common point of repair as the internal plastic support would crack over time. I’d poke around the second Gen section to look for threads.

Check the Toyota parts department. You might be surprised how cheap it is.

 

As mentioned already check with Toyota parts department I think the door panel is sold as a unit. You might even look around on eBay may find a good used door panel for a reasonable price.

IMO I don’t think it would be repairable to the point that I would accept it.

 

Go to any auto upholstery shop and have it repaired. Probably less money if you take just the door panel to them.
