Didnt read all above comments but this caught my eye. I was involved in somthkng very similar and because the frame was bent it was totaled my damage look less than yours. But....the intial body shop didnt discover it so when the vehicle was taken to the shop my insurance company approved to do the repair they discovered it and then it was considered total. I didnt even know what gap insurance was but was thankful I purchased it

Agreed! I love the guys that say "only pay cash for your truck!" Surrrrrrrre... I am in awe of all of you that have $40k+ in your seat cushions.

Must be a lot of attorneys, high ranking corporate executives, or sports stars on TW...

I have the money to buy my truck cash but never will. I don’t see the point of tying up that much cash in a depreciating asset.

I think you might have missed my point lol, new cars keep the middle class in the middle class. $500 a month over 35 years (average length households carry a car note) in a moderate return Mutual Fund is 3-5 million. Better be a pretty nice car...

I'd say you need a new financial/ tax advisor. Leased vehicles are the largest money maker for a dealer, and are roughly 12-14% interest and then you get hit with fees on turn in. The tax right off is not there to make it worth it. If I had a company I'd rather long term rent at a negotiated low rate and not be on the hook for over miles or wear and tear, or better yet get a reliable vehicle cash.

Leasing is dumber than buy a new vehicle, which is also dumb. You don't buy a new vehicle because you have too. It's because you want to. And going into debt to purchase a depreciating asset is super dumb. That $500 a month would be much better used elsewhere. Even at 0% you are still screwing yourself over, there is no such thing a free money.

That being said anyone selling a Cement TRD OR?

You know, I can't even tell if you're trolling or not. If so, bravo, because I wrote this long rant about how dumb it is and then realized it's hopefully a joke.

Not totaled, it’s too new. My truck had similar damage and frame had a 3/8” diamond in it. It took the shop 3 months to fix it but you would never know it happened. They used oem parts and it cost $20k. Now my truck is worth $56k + 10k of mods I’ve done so about $18k of real money lol. I don’t care and wheel the shit out of it. I’m pretty sure I have more flex than stock a stock frame;) never gonna sell it and slowly headed towards truggy.

I'm going against the crowd here but I strongly suspect it is totaled. That suspension looks like it got pushed in quite a bit. So figure frame damage in hard to repair areas, but also front differential parts damage, various brake parts and various sensors and electronics, possible other mechanical parts cracked/damaged. Various mechanical parts on the opposite side of the hit might be damaged. Lot of aluminum and plastic parts to crack. Also the ultra high strength steel components used in the body are often not repairable. Plus figure the body is twisted on its body mounts. Maybe some other hid things cracked/damaged in the body or interior. Various steering components out of alignment or broken. Where you slammed into the interior might be damaged. I am going with totaled.

Yeah, if the delta between your loan and your portfolio investments makes sense. My BoA loan on a new vehicle was 2.89 in October (platinum level member reduces car loan by half a point), 10-year note going for just over 3%... market tanked in Oct., so I opted to buy outright this time around.

I feel like it's totaled. It seems very similar to my 2nd gen crash which was also declared totaled.

Lol, well, thank you for your eye opening revelation. I knew I was doing something wrong all these years, I just couldn't put my finger on it. I should've joined TW much sooner. All these monies I could've saved

If you need a financial adviser to shop for a truck, your issues are probably beyond the scope of this forum. I’m glad OP & Co. are OK. The truck is totaled, or it isn’t. If it is, I hope he finds something that he likes just as well, no matter what means he employs to buy it.

No one gets out alive, and life is too short to dance with ugly women.
