I got the chance to drive an M240i, and if the new Supra is as good as that car or better then we are in for a treat. Any doubt I had about the powertrain is gone (other than that unknown reliability aspect)

This thing is way more BMW than Toyota. They couldn’t even use their own steering wheel or tech inside.

I can’t complain much about that though because the Germans are leagues ahead of anything Toyota has for infotainment

    Have they just given up?

Genesis knocked it out of the ballpark with the G70..

I think everyone, quite frankly, is tired of the half hearted efforts from Toyota and Lexus these days.

Sure they are the most reliable brand, but most car companies have vastly improved their reliability in the last 10 years.

Toyota and Lexus are going to have to get with times in terms of everything else now.

Couldn't agree more. Back in the early 80's, Toyotas and Nissans were really cool. Heck, the Corolla was cool, even before the ae86. I had 3 rwd ones and they were fantastic. Now Toyota seems to make appliances, very boring appliances. Nissan looks like they just gave up in the design department with the exception of the Gt-r and the Micra. Their cars are pretty unreliable and cheaply constructed as well. The new brz frs twins are a pretty cool concept. Having owned a few, I'd have to say that Mazda has the same fun to drive, exciting and well designed cars Toyota used to have. Mazdas are amazing, sadly, they don't make a truck.

Well Nissan's cheaply constructed cars reflect in their cheaply sold pricing and that's why people continue to buy them. They are otherwise garbage for the most part.

So this is how Toyota ends huh. By letting BMW build their cars for them then just slapping Toyota logos all over it.

Yep everything but the steering wheel is exactly BMW

It is, you can totally tell if you have ever seen a Beamer interior. What a shame. Like I said in a previous thread about these new cars, nothing is sacred anymore and all these new cars are being built like absolute trash. This car will be no different.

On a sidenote, they really gotta stop that front end side diffuser crap on these new cars. It makes them look so ricey.

Agreed, but at least make the garbage presentable à la 240z, 510, Stanza....yeah, Nissan hasn't made many good looking cars...

Toyota needs the equivalent of the 1977 Celica GT Fastback. I'm not sure if the Brz/ t whatever is it.

Yes but looks don't mean a thing if you are walking on the side of the highway while it hangs back broken down 2-3 miles back. (Or you are getting it towed). Hahaha.
