I’d agree with you there. I love bmws, but they should’ve done a quasi retro tribute to supras of the past. Oh well. At least it’s got a straight 6.

True. Just put me off to BMWs but love their designs and product.

SMH... You do know the Z4 is AUTO ONLY! On the other hand Tada-san has said there are prototypes with a MT. Most of the early units have already been called for, but ok..

Only in US, Europe will get Z4 with manual in 20i trim, unlike Toyota (which will have the same 4cyl engine apparently). Tomorrow’s reveal will tell us more

I doubt Toyota will put manual, as I remeber they said that the market share is low to even profit for them. But that’s another discussion.

    So you live in Europe?

ToyotaUSA has confrimed in an email posted on SupraMKV that a manual is indeed coming. It just won't be available in the first year.

I know for sure it's being sold. I think it's one of the charity auctions

I don’t mind the stats but at $55k it will sell as well as the last gen (poorly)

Toyota claims it is to compete with a Porsche/bmw/Audi but it doesn’t. It completes with a mustang that is considerably cheaper and way more power. (GT)

it will compete with turbo 4 bangers than cost a fraction of the price.

I don’t get the pricing. At $55k it should be a Lexus. People looking at a cayman aren’t even considering Toyota.

What 4 second 0-60 4 cylinders are you looking at?
It’s a BMW with Toyota sheet metal, just cause it has a non luxury brand badge doesn’t mean it automatically devalues it. The Supra has always been very expensive.

If they benchmarked this tiny car against a cayman, it’s probably gonna be excellent

I do want this car, the styling is 10/10 for me. And to know it’s smaller than a BMW M240i with the same power, I can’t imagine how fun it is.

According to reports only the engine and odds and ends will be bmw.
People that buy Porsche’s, BMWs, Audi’s don’t look at Toyota’s. They are likely missing out on great value but that is still the case. I like the car but people wanting $55k toys don’t buy Toyota’s. If you want evidence, look no further than Supras gone by. In the 80s they were a fun relatively cheap sports car, in the 90s they were a better car but overpriced for a Toyota and never sold.

Same situation with the Avalon, great luxury features and good value but people spending luxury money don’t buy Toyota.

lots, pretty much every performance based 4 banger these days does 0-60 in 4-5 seconds.
