Yes, BMW engines are turbo these days.

I believe the B58 is more likely.

Because BMW is developing it for them.

Hmm what else has the b58? M2 has N55 right?

The B58B30O0 with 335hp is found in the M140i, M240i and the 540i.

Correct, the M2 has the N55. But BMW is phasing it out for the B58. Bimmerpost members have said 2018 will be the last year BMW uses the N55.

So it will be a Toyota with BMW engine? Or just a BMW overall?

I'm thinking a BMW made to look like a mini tone down FT-1.

I just hope this thing comes with a manual. If not, at least a DCT please!

Better hope it's a Toyota with a BMW engine. Have you seen what it takes to work on a recent BMW? You can't even change the battery without needing special factory tools to perform a reset.

BMW has never been known for reliability. They are great when they are running right. It costed me $5k for a transmission replacement... 2 weeks after the warranty expired

BMW will be building the Supra in Austria.
BMW with Toyota-styled sheetmetal, which means you need to budget $2000 per year for repairs after warranty expiry, and carry a quart of oil in the trunk for top-ups every time you refuel: https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-BMW-Spare-Pouch-Model/dp/B007T9JZWE

That's a common misconception. Nothing about euro car maintenance is more expensive unless you talking about 200 an hour labor costs at porche. Then again my local Toyota dealer is 180 an hour....

The scheduled maintenance costs are reasonable. The unscheduled costs, on the other hand... Also, BMW M-cars (and Audi S-cars) tend to be more temperamental than the conventional variants. Wanna bet the Supra will be more like an M-car?

You just have to do your own work, or have a good non dealer mechanic (vap motorsports is fantastic in my area, specialize in vag cars)

    LS1 swap with nitros.
You also have to expect to do a LOT more work on the car than is required for a Japanese vehicle. Even if costs are the same, you do more which = more money.
