2018 TRD Off-road won’t start. My experience

Remember that the "new, improved, recall mandated fuel pump" was made by the same people that fucked up the original

 

Afaik, it was a materials snafu. Not a mfg/ assembly issue.

 

Very helpful info. Appreciate you sharing. I'm supposed to get my fuel pump recall next week now I'm having second thoughts.... My truck has 25K with the original fuel pump with no issues. [sigh]... I hate having people work on my fully functional truck.

 

Just use a dealership you feel comfortable with (you can use ANY of them, it’s a national recall). Mine wouldn’t schedule it until they had the part in hand. I managed to combine it with my 40K, so he had several things to do while it was up on the lift.

Don’t forget - they want under a 1/4 tank to make it easier to drop.

 

Proper engineering includes material selection.
