2018 TRD Pro Grille on a 2023 TRD OR

anyone know if this fit should work? a TRD Pro Grille being sold as "for 2016-2018" and the seller is saying it won't fit my 2023 -- they're all 3rd gen, did something on the front end change post 2018 that would not make this fit?

can't tell if i'm missing something important or he's just mistaken

 

specifically -- will THIS grille work for me (since i have the sensor already in mine, i should be good that this doesn't come with one)

 

2016-2017 Tacomas did not have a TSS sensor, therefore, no mounting platform in those model year grilles.

I would not buy it for a 2023. There would be too much modifying required.

Edit, also, you can get a way better price than $470 for a fleabay grille.

 

No, you need a specific insert piece that is radar transparent (called the grill garnish).

 

I assuming the TSS won’t work since the 2016 and 2017 Tacomas didn’t have it. You would also have to buy a new sensor cover/garnish to get the TSS to work again.

I have an oem 2017 pro grille on my 2016 SR Tacoma, and there’s definitely a spot behind the grille for the TSS sensor, so it seems like Toyota was gonna put TSS in later anyways

check your model too if it has the front camera -- would require a different grille that has a camera mount.

 

If it came off an 18, it should have garnish. 18 has TSS.

It still should have the removable panel, and mounting for TSS. All you would need is garnish.

seems to be what im looking for, some questions on if it messes up the TSS though so would love if anyone has experience with it
