I just went to the local hardware store and picked up an epoxy that was safe for plastics. I used as little of the glue as possible.

I think some people have had success with the front license place bracket plastic but some also reported issues with it. For those that have reported issues, I think the problem was that the TSS module wasn't exactly square with the grill so if you get errors, see if you can ensure that the module is exactly at a 90 degree angle with the road.

Did you use the shiny side of the cut piece to glue to our the rough side?

Pro grille (eBay) came in last night along with the OEM garnish. Can’t wait to put it in this weekend and get rid of the chrome.

Also have some bronze plastidipping to do to my wheels.

It will be a good weekend for my Tacoma (assuming I don’t break anything).

Thanks for the informative write up!

Good luck! I’m sure it’ll look great, the pro grille looks mean. Take your time you won’t break anything.

great instructions! I got mine installed after reading this post. Here's the part list that i used so people don't have to go fish:

    1. 53141-35060 Garnish Radiator Gr $51.02
    2. PT22835170 Grille, Trd $376.29
    3. 88214-04020 Wire Millimeter Wav $19.94
    4. 90183-06044 Cover Nut $0.77 . (order 2 of these. AKA starlock or push pin)
I used the longer extension cable because i like to hide the wires. I also cut old starlock since it was a PITA to remove. That took longer than installing the grille on the car. Total time was under 15 min including 5 min of removing the push pin.

Just made the swap! Couldn’t have gone smoother. Paid $70 for the OEM one at the dealership only because I didn’t want to wait for the other to ship. The grille itself was $120.

    LOVE IT!!!

    Hello,
I'm a little late to this party, so apologies if what I'm about to ask has already been covered.... I just purchased a 2018 TRD Sport (not lifted).... Its sensor sits in the Toyota emblem on the factory grille....

I just purchased an after-market Pro grille and the sensor is seated lower on the Pro grille than that of the stock grille.... Will it cause any issues? On the factory grille, it sits dead centre, but on the Pro grille, it sits just beneath center.

    Not much stock left.
Yes, your sensor will work just fine.
