That's probably why. They have to give the VIN to Toyota when ordering or else it will be rejected. Not entering it in when you ordered will probably delay things a bit.

I tried to place an order and it looks like it's no longer for sale? Maybe they caught on...

There are other dealerships to get it at. Just search the part number on Google.

I bought mine at oempartsquick.com. It's a Toyota dealership in Ohio that runs the site. Prices were good and shipping was about $25 bucks.
No problem ordering after I gave them a PRO VIN#.

With the new 2018 grille being much less expensive than the older one, I'm not sure why people are still buying the Chinese ones for $200 or more.

I guess you can say I was uninformed about the 2018 grills being cheaper.

Can you cancel your order and get an OEM one instead?

Does anyone have a picture or measurement of how thick the OEM garnish is?

I-5 just shipped my order a few days ago :D... Glad I was able to scoop up a pro grill, garnish, and wiring harness from them before they caught on. I-5 probably didn't mind selling the parts, Toyota probably started questioning their order volume. For reference, I used a VIN of a Voodoo Blue on a local lot at the time of purchase and had no problems. Hopefully they will come back online and continue selling these grills at a great price.

    Hello everyone,

I have a quick question for y’all. I’ve been contemplating on buying the OEM TRD Pro, however reading some comments and positive feedback some of you have from purchasing aftermarket grille thru eBay, it may be an option for me as well.
I’ve notice two aftermarket grilles on eBay. There is one that you need to screw the lettering onto the grille. And the other one comes with the lettering so you can peel and stick.
What would you guys recommend to be best? I’ve seen some people missing some letters or trying to purchase spare ones in case something happens down the road.
The other option grille, the lettering is held by 4 small screws on the back. Not sure if someone has experienced any problems but it doesn’t look sturdy enough either. Below is a comparison of both grilles.
What you guys think? Any suggestions/feedback will be appreciated and perhaps can help someone else make the best decision as well.

To me, it makes more sense to get an OEM grill. Especially at the prices they are right now. I got everything for about $250. The grill, garnish, and wiring harness. Find a dealership that sells parts online and use the VIN from a TRD Pro that is local to your area.

I-5 was a popular website on here if you check the last 5-10 pages of this thread. However, people are now saying that the Pro grill is no longer available from them. Oh well, on to the next one. There are still dealers out there that will give you a good price and have not caught the attention of Toyota corporate yet.

Is it an option to totally disconnect the tss system? I feel like I don’t use it what so ever but wanted to know if there were any downsides to disconnecting it (such as computer malfunctions) if I were to put in an after market grille, lift, or new bumper.

FYI, I ordered my 2018 Pro grille from oempartworld.com on Saturday November 10th. They emailed me and asked for a VIN, and I provided them with one I googled. They came back and said that I ordered the wrong part number, because the bezel is color matched (my truck is black, the TRD pro that I googled was white). I told them that I am going for a blacked out look, and that I want the original part that I ordered. I got my tracking number, the grille is supposed to arrive on Tuesday!

Hopefully they still have some in stock, and you guys can get ahold of them!

That’s correct, just look up a used trd Pro that’s for sale and give them that vin , all they do is see if it’s a valid vin for trd Pro truck
    .... outsmart the system !

I used a brand new, unsold Voodoo Blue VIN and had no problems.
