I already want to know this part number. This would give me 2 blank spots for new switches in the center. Right now I have none on left and only 1 in center due to tech/premium package and MT. Didnt want to have to lose the cubby hole, even if its use is limited. I want to reorder the buttons from left to right in the order I most use them. LED light bar, ditch lights, QI, USB, P, BSM.

The window sticker he was holding said $43,XXX then he said it was $45k. So looks like they're selling it for above MSRP. Wish my 17 OR AC had power rear window though. My old 1995 Dodge Dakota Extended Cab had one!

It's the same lower panel as previous years. It's not a cheap part ~$150 IIRC. And you have to remove half the dash to swap it.

Comes with a lot of electronic bs you don't need but will probably throw your truck into limp mode if you replace it or if it stops working.

I don't understand the Pro market, why do people pay so much extra for an OR with zero performance upgrades?

That’s actually a new part for 2018. This one has one extra spot vs the 2016-2017 tech package panels.
The extra spot is for the rear window, but that switch isn’t the same size as the others, so the cutout will be slightly different. If you are just putting normal switches in these spots, the center one may look funny.

For some, it's easier to buy all the bells and whistles in one go if they dont plan to do much rock crawling with it. For those who are smarter, they buy the model down and use the savings to add all the fun stuff.

The novelty of having a truck that is somewhat limited in qty. made. Having some of the mods one would do, done at factory and there for also falling under the vehicle's warranty.

It's why they make different series, everyone likes different things.

Also due to their limited qty., pros typically hold their resale value better than other Tacoma series, at least they sure do in my part of the country.

I agree they are pricey, especially if you let a dealer rip you off and charge you above retail, but if you can find a dealer to sell you one closer to invoice, it isn't as bad.

I would also add that some consumers want some of the features of the pro without having to go to the time or effort or both to have the vehicle modified or retrofitted after the fact. So having a pretty decent pkg. from factory allows them to have these things from the get go.

I do agree that now with an o/r model having leather, etc. a pro for the added price should get the trd cold air intake and other performance enhancements standard to further differentiate it from the other models and to better justify the added expense. It should absolutely get better, more aggressive stock tires than the other series as well.

One of the primary reasons I'd never buy one or any new Tacoma for that matter. I was checking some new models out while waiting to pick up my 01 for service. They add even more bling and unnecessary BS to the base vehicle. Plastic beds, plastic pieces on top of bed rails (great place to accumulate debris/water and destroy paint/metal), TSS BS (for people who can't drive), ridiculous cubby holes in bed (I'd bet would fail with a 1/2 ton load of rocks/gravel), wireless charging, etc... All that shit adds on thousands of dollars. No wonder why the prices of these trucks are sky high.
