I would certainly stop putting additives in the oil. That is not good for the VVTi system. Looking at plugs is a good way to determine what cylinder is burning oil. If it's just #6, I would start there. That is actually a good sign it's only 1 cylinder. You may have a bad (likely defective) valve seal. Not sure how easy it is to pull the valve cover to do an inspection.

I see the smoke hard to tell the color, what does it smell like?
Does it clear up as the engine warms?
    Does it smoke when driving?

Smoking is not good but it's not as bad as most I have seen,

This is a coolant leak in #3 cylinder, see how bad it is compared to yours,... this is white smoke
    https://youtu.be/xkz8m4zTqh4

A small oil leak may appear white smoke so,
The possibilities. Valve seal leaking, oil sludge causing drainage problems or head gasket leaking.
You need to diagnose the cause,.... oil leaking into the cylinder or internal oil drainage and engine ventilation.
If its coolant it the head gasket or head/cylinder cracked.

You need to have it looked at; we cannot diagnose by thought.
As in this video, it may not be a mechanical problem.

I am posting this one because it's a possibility.
It is possible that its a oil draining problem due to gunk build up (you did mention the emissions PVC valve changed things a bit)
    https://youtu.be/TLB2r3KpUbQ

Did you buy the vehicle NEW?
What type of oil and how often do you change it?

Have you had someone look at the oil and coolant for contamination?

@EarthCruzn woooooah that truck was smoking BAD. The amount of smoke in my video is usually the amount of smoke that comes out on a cold start. It'll do the initial smoke for about 25 seconds or so and then stop smoking as the engine warms. The smoke used to smell like oil but since I've changed the pcv and put seafoam in the crankcase, it doesn't have an oil or burning smell anymore. It just has a regular exhaust smell but alot of it. I angle my passenger mirror so I can see the exhaust while I'm driving and I don't ever see smoke but I'm going to have my wife drive behind me today to see if maybe she can see any exhaust smoke. I bought my Tacoma used about a year ago. I change my oil in all of my vehicles every 5000 miles but since this issue, I've changed the Tacoma's oil twice in the past 4 months under probably 2000 miles each. I think getting my oil and coolant checked for contamination is a real good idea, I'm going to do that. If it's smoking because of sludge, would you recommend I pour another 6oz of seafoam in the crankcase? It's been 500 miles since I poured the 6oz of seafoam in the crankcase. It really did help the engine run better after I did that and changed the pcv. I just don't know if I pour another 6oz in the crankcase if it'd have any negative effects on the engine since it's the same oil as the first 6oz.

Cannot say anything on the Seafoam,.. never used it BUT people say it has worked in fuel systems before,.
It maybe a PVC oil build up issue, if it appears to be better than before when you changed the PVC valve run it for a tank of fuel.

Oil build up takes time, it will take some time for it to clear out and burn any residue out of the exhaust pipe as well.
1 tank of fuel should show improvement hopefully, have someone check the oil and coolant for signs of contamination is a good idea.

Oil in the coolant should show up under the radiator cap and floating on the top of the coolant in the radiator.
BUT this only means the oil is or is not leaking into the cooling system,
it does not mean coolant is not leaking into the cylinder. (This is why we looked for a wet cylinder)

If oil is seeping by a valve seal, we will have a wet cylinder and smoke (depending on the size of leak or oil collected over time)

    Build-up-$
A mechanic will want to remove the valve covers and clean anything he can to get accessible oil sludge/build up out.
Then let the residue burn off from engine heating the exhaust and converters.

    Valve seal(s)-$$
They will want to remove the valve covers cams and change ALL the seals even it its just one leaking.

    Coolant leak-$$$
Its head gasket time hopefully and not a bad/cracked head or cylinder wall.
They will find out which side is bad and change only ONE head gasket.

This is where if your problem does not clear up in a couple tanks, or gets worse.
It will do you well to get a person that does this type of work DAILY, he will have two things REQUIRED,.... the correct tools and the knowledge/experience.
It is a 1-day job to do any of the above repairs, BUT this depends on who you take it to obviously.

Odds are its just a seeping oil seal, the smoke is only on startup, and it goes away shortly after warming.
Coolant leaks usually keep smoking after warming up.
Bad rings will smoke and smoke worse under a load or acceleration.

Hoping it clears up my friend,..

Does it smoke every time you start up, or does it do it after it's sat for a while?

@EarthCruzn thank you so much for everything you've said man!!

@TXTaco13 it only smokes like in the video if it sits for about an hour or longer

For the Valve stem seals to be faulty. Does it smoke during your commute? When accelerating from a stop do you see smoke coming out of the tail pipe? Or when cruising in fwy you let off the gas pedal and see smoke out the tail pipe?
If you do see smoke from the scenario above. I would say you need valve stem seal replacement.

Are you burning oil between oil changes?
These GR engines are know to have cylinder wall scoring.

Other condition that may be causing the smoke is the amount of oil possibly collected in the intake manifold.the PCV system on the GR is horrible.

How long does the truck have to idle before smokes goes away?

@tw0leftskis It only smokes when I first turn it on after letting it sit for about an hour. I've been watching to see if there's any smoke during acceleration all the time by keep my passenger mirror angled down but there's never any smoke. It doesn't smoke when idling either, it's weird. The only time it smokes is on the initial turn on for about 25 seconds and then it goes away. I've been keeping an eye on the dipstick and it doesn't appear to have any oil loss or coolant loss either. The smoke doesn't smell like anything is burning, it just smells like regular exhaust smoke but ALOT of it lol.

Do you think I fixed the problem but it's so gunked up that its just blowing all the bullshit out and thats whats causing the smoke now? If thats the case, would it smoke the entire time its on or would it only blow smoke on turn on? Is there something you'd recommend trying?

A KDMAX tune I believe can lean or richen the air/fuel mixture and other settings. IDK if it will be useful in your case but it will sure drive better. Lots of guys on here running a KDMAX Pro tune and a catch can. I run both!

You need to look on here for KDMAX tune and find the tuner in your area. The catch can is made and sold by JLT in Chesapeake Va. This cheap tablet is not allowing me to copy and paste, which of course is my fault. Any catch can for a Tacoma will work but JLT's kit is very nice.

I just changed my oil and it looks like in the past 4000 miles it burnt about 1.5 quarts or oil. I scheduled an appt at the Toyota service center for next week. Do you think maybe this is a worn piston ring problem or worn valve stem seal? I'm starting to lean more towards piston rings after reading about the symptoms.
