I just bought a 2018 TRD Sport a couple of months ago and recently ordered some of the Lamin-x fog light covers. I've read that they're much easier to install if you remove the black plastic fog light bezel beforehand. So I popped the hood and reached down to start pushing the tabs out and most came out really easy. But on both sides, there is one tab that will just not budge. I can actually get pretty good eyes on it and it doesn't seem made to even come out as the slot on the gray piece that it slides through doesn't seem to be big enough. Here's a pic of the tab, circled in red:

Here's a pic of the bezel from the front with all of the tabs out besides the one which basically locks the left side in place on this bezel:

Anyone tried this on a 2018 yet?

Almost just want to break the tab and get the bezel off and just order a new one to replace it with...I'm at a loss right now. Any help appreciated. Thought this was gonna be an easy mod o_O

Bump...anyone out there willing to take a quick look at this on their 2018? It's about a 5 minute test...you can reach down with the hood popped and push it out from the inside. For me, 5 of the 6 tabs popped out like nothing...but that 6th one doesn't want to cooperate

You have to squeeze the point on the hook that goes through. It's shaped like ()

I just installed my BD fogs the other day and the “left” tabs were PITA but it’s an easy fix. I reached inside and “push down” on the tab and it popped right off.

I must’ve done it the hard way. I pried the bezel from the outside.

Thanks for the suggestions. I finally got them out...last tab was a major pain on both sides. Felt like I was pulling the entire frame out with the bezel.

Pretty happy with the end result on the lamin-x amber fog light covers. They look pretty bada$$ and pair well with the black/orange interior on my truck.

Guess thats one way to do it. I just unbolted the one screw, unplugged the light and pulled it out to put my film on.

Would you mind throwing up a picture of the end result? I’m looking at doing the exact same thing to my cement Tacoma but not sure how it would look

This is with the dark smoke version:

Easiest to unplug the harness and remove the one screw. The light will come out of the hole between the headlight and rad support, no problem.

Here you go...don't have one with them on at night. But I am pleased with the results. Def like it as a complement to the inferno interior.

Dang I wish my cement taco had the inferno interior! That does looks awesome. I’ll probably be ordering a pair for their holiday sale... thank you for the pictures

I was dead set on the gunmetal/dark interior because I thought the inferno was a bright orange (I think the stock photos at Toyota's website imply this). Then one of the local dealers emailed to let me know they had a Cement Taco in stock - it had the inferno interior. After test driving, I fell in love because it was much more subtle than I originally thought. Unfortunately that particular Taco didn't have the options I was after.

From that point on I was on a mission to find one. Ultimately ended up getting a local dealer to trade trucks with another that was 3-4 hours away in order to get the inferno interior. Glad I waited out until I found one, love the way it complements the cement exterior.

Nope! I hate front plates and stupidly big, flat OEM mounts. I ditch them and form the plate to the bumper.

There are more pics in a couple front plate mount threads.
