2018 TRD Sport, getting 9mpg, super rough idle, terrible noises, and Toyota told me not to come back

50 at 3K rpms is normal. Pay attention to Engine load.
Must turn lights and air to test in idle

Yes, lights, air, ac are off. Engine is warmed up. Don't touch the steering wheel.
You can use any obd2 application, just factor in a slow refresh rate.

 

Take some videos of what's happening so others can help you troubleshoot better. Have you checked the fuses and relays just to make sure that something that small isn't causing you massive issues?

Dude if it’s under warranty and dealerships are refusing to fix your truck you need to call corporate!

 

I mean they are running a car dealership.. people bitch constantly to these places. Unless you laid somebody tf out or threatened to shoot or do harm to somebody they can’t hold a personal vendetta against a customer who’s got warranty on a vehicle by the manufacturer of vehicle they sell

 

I did, they basically said I should go try and fix it myself, haha. This whole experience has been a bit surreal honestly

 

So I did the maf test, and actually I’m thinking it might be in a fairly normal range after all! I guess it pays to know how to test things properly! I’ll upload a vid, and I have a few more with some sounds and the spark advance numbers. This drive was really rough, still terrible mileage, and the engine felt like it was going through cyclical bursts of shaking about 2 seconds of shaking, and 2 seconds of running normally.

 

Toyota corporate told you to fix it yourself?

 

They told me it sounded like my best bet was to take it to another shop

Here is the weird “pfft” noise whenever I turn my wheel in park or hit the gas.

You can’t really hear completely how bad it sounds here, but if you turn it up you may be able to hear the loud high pitched hum. Otherwise I do know it’s just a loud engine and most of this is normal

This is by far the weirdest one, this sound is coming from somewhere near the muffler or gas tank after the truck was shut off.
