I jumped from a 2008 TRD Sport to a 2021 TRD Sport Premium and the difference is incredible with all the bells and whistles but did not go for the Android Car Play.

Do you mean you don't use it because it is standard on all models now.

I did not subscribe to it cause up here the signals are very weak and it would be a waste of money.

Oh you mean the connectivity services? I get that. I was thinking of it as more of using the in-dash screen for displaying phone apps/maps/etc that doesn't require a subscription.

I am not too savy on the tech stuff just happy to have paired my phone, garage door and remote start works. Other than that not interested in the free trial offers which have a subscription at the end.

I just went from a 18 to 21 this feb and the head unit is a step back for toyota it is the reason for the backup camera resolution, I know they switch manufacturer when they went to car play android auto head unit , these units are logy at startup and almost unresponsive. it is my number one complaint on the 21 , they left out HD radio also.

The only improvement the head unit has is that is has a better sound. but everything els is a downgrade.

I have been thinking of going back to a 18 or 19 just for this reason alone.

I have 2021 TRD Sport Premuim with the HD premium Sirius radio and my back up camera is nice and crystal clear do not see the issue with it.

I Have a hard time understanding how that is possible- I don’t doubt your experience, but my 21 TRD Pro backup camera is so bad, I use the mirrors far more than the camera. Is it possible there has been a bad run of head units or cameras?

I had a loaner 2021 while my 2016 got the undercoating campaign. 2021 drove like crap compared to my 2016, probably because I put a Fox suspension and good tires on. As far as rattles I have zero. As far as shifting my 2016 drove smoother than the 2021, and I have 0 shifting problems. 2021 wanted to downshift at every little throttle press and hold the gear as long as it could even when coasting down, very annoying. Shifting is perfect now on 2021, hardly. My 2016 was a very late year build for what it's worth. Couldn't wait to get my 2016 back. The truck has hardly changed over the years even though many think it has drastically. I'd love to see some examples of this so called fit and finish thing being perfect from years ago, never have seen any posts concerning improvements in this area, it was good to begin with. Funny thing is the glue still comes off on the hoods of the perfect 2021. Same truck. I have the finances to sell my 16 and get a new truck, but I feel like I would be stepping back or wouldn't be a good value for the money spent.

What do you like better the OR or the sport? Sometimes i hate the feel of the suspension on my SR5

Put a fox suspension on and good tires. You'll have an OR or better without the sticker price. Same trucks.

Did Toyota ever add a front camera option? If so how do you like it?
