Kinda wish I financed mine vs dropping serious coin to buy it.... thought the tacoma was a solid value holding vehicle compared to the others out there but not so sure about that right now... how the hell does rust start creeping out from under brand new trucks, make you wonder what else they spaced on during the manufacturing

I definitely had same thing in mind when made the purchase. Was planning on upgrading after the tundra redesign. Kinda figured the Tacoma would hold value with minimal issues

UPDATE: Toyota covered the rust was a defect and they paid for it to be painted at the authorized body shop. Def call them on it and they honored it under warranty.

Aren't the bodies on Tacos galvanized? I live in the rust belt and no signs of rust like that on my 2011 Taco! Any rock chips that occurred over the winter are still shiny.

Same here having a 2001 tundra. Not a spec of rust anywhere on the body itself. Frame was a different matter.

Unfortunately the crap they use to de-ice the roads around here corrodes metal rapidly.

Same here, you'll see some later model ram's with rotted quarter panels.

This rust was in between the bed on the spot welds and coming from under the paint to the surface, not road salts or use related, Toyota was quick to take responsibility once the rep saw it and they had it blasted and repainted. May be only a few of the WHITE 2019 models that had this problem.
