OP, if you are still here don't sweat it. There are a few things you can try and keep in mind.

First disconnect the battery for a while, then reconnect it and drive it like you want it to drive, don't baby it. If you drive like a grandma, the tranny will learn that and drive like it. The learning aspect of the tranny is always watching, and the results of doing this usually result in frustration of it not driving as you would like eventually.

S mode is your friend. S5 will fix many of the issues known to plague some owners. S does away with the learning aspect and locks out 6th gear. Difference between 5th and 6th is probably about 400 RPM at highway speed. Both are still overdrives.

You can also use ECT mode to hold gears and improve throttle response. S mode and ETC work wonders.

You can always turn to the aftermarket for a reprogramming of the computer, OVTune.

Trading in your vehicle, regearing, or aftermarket solutions are hardly required, but if you try all the options available that you have already paid for and still hate it, move on to the next step you are willing to take.

Hand calculated, I always do, just cause. Oddly my Tundra is very accurate, hand calculations and the display are within a few tenths.

My 2020 auto seems perfectly fine. These automatic transmissions are designed to shift up/down to get the best gas mileage possible. The only solution to your “problem” is trading it in for a manual or for another truck all together. I think it’s all in your head man. When I’m driving, I’m not sitting there and obsessing over and listening to when my transmission is shifting. Frankly, I don’t care. Now, if the transmission was needing to be rebuilt or replaced because something was actually wrong with it, that’s a whole other issue.

yes its been covered since 2016, any infos pos. or neg. have already been ran thru a billion times already, which leaves only threads that are intended to be used as a dog whistle to start a flame war confrontation with the intent on getting people banned, its really obvious at this stage.

Same here, i was a bit discouraged with the trucks performance when under 1k miles on the odo, but after that everything started to work just as good as on my gen1 tundra. Currently get a stead 22.5 mpg with a mix of city and highway driving. Couldn't be happier how smooth and deliberate this transmission performs.

That's impressive man. I never came close to that with my Tundra. The computer on my 2020 Tacoma has been pretty accurate thus far. The Tundra was usually off by about 1.5 mpgs. Not that it really matters, since I do the same as you and hand calculate everything.
