I ordered the Encore, but got the solid fold delivered by Amazon....they offered to let me keep it and get $100 inconvenience credit, and $275 refund....but alas the Solid Fold was for a Nissan Titan and I could not take advantage.

    It looked very.......solid for sure.

I created this excel sheet based on my needs for a hard cover. Green means Ideal, yellow means acceptable, red means compromise.

The prices may have changed, and my criteria is personal but I thought I would share.

    FYI....
I considered the vinyl covered hard covers less desirable.
I considered covers that only allowed partial bed access less desirable.
I considered everything below $750 with free delivery desirable.
I considered anything above $900 with free delivery not desirable.
I considered less than 5YR warranty not desirable.

yeah it's a good one, just the rail relocation and weak security (not specific to this model tho) don't work for many. but it does work for me. really happy with it.

I've had my Undercover Armor Flex for a couple months now and love it. When I was researching covers, I also planned on passing on that model because of the price but jumped on a forum deal offered by Real Truck around a couple months ago and ended up paying way less including shipping (was a bit over 800). Great cover. Keep an eye out for sales and don't be afraid to call the suppliers. Some of them have been known to be a little flexible on price.

Great spreadsheet for covers. Yeah, I ended up with an Undercover Ultraflex from online earlier this year. Ended up getting it for like 805.00. Undercover was doing a 75 rebate and then the company gave me 10% for military. Worked out great. Love the cover too.

I just installed a Bakflip MX4 last week. I'm really happy with it and the install was pretty simple. I bought it through their site and they price matched a competitor at 820 shipped.

Does the third gen Armour Flex keep the functionality of the bed rails? I have it for my second gen and love it but wish I could still use the rails.

I really like my Fold-A-Cover - It has 4 aluminum panels that fold and you can get access to the front and the rear panel so I put stuff near the cab for easy access. You can also use your factory rail hooks and it has the best 8 point automotive type mounting system without drilling holes. Others I looked at including Bakflip, I would have to drill larger holes in box for drain tubes and would not be able to use tiedown hooks. The Fold-A-Cover is made in Michigan USA also by Steffens . Check out various videos on the net. This is just my opinion after purchasing a cheap cover before and not being happy with it so I really looked into buying the one I really wanted.

If you're looking for something that will last, looks good, really strong and is secure the Diamondback is the only way to go. Buy once cry once. If you were in the military they offer 10% discount.
I've got the large cross over storage box that hidden under the DB, awesome setup.

If I could figure out how to add a photo to the thread I'd add a couple pics.

At the time I just googled "Tacoma Bakflip mx4" and found a seller with that price listed (828.00). I honestly can't find it now after a quick search. They didn't even ask me for a source when I placed the order and all communication was done through the chat window on their site. Perhaps the price can even go lower :)

If it helps, I can give you my order number for them to reference. You can tell them that your friend just picked one up for 828.00 two weeks ago. Just shoot me a PM.

I'm really happy with the cover. I followed all most of the install tips by @tekoma in the following thread.

Just installed this today and after 6 hours I’m very happy. :)) As you can see I needed a roll up so I could still use my bed racks. Finding a tonneau that works with racks is not easy. Waiting for the next rain storm so I can test it out.

Fold a Cover G4 Elite. Cover can open at cab and tailgate and locks. Happy with it so far.

Had an extang solid fold on my prior F-150. Was happy with it and stuck with extang and went with the encore when I downsized to the Tacoma. Overall was nice but never could get it to stop leaking at the panel seams. So moved on to a softopper and am happy with that. Although like the looks of a tonneau better at times.
