I've seen some posts of others cutting into the side of the bed and installing the Tuffy box or even a marine glove box. However, I was curious if anyone installed the OEM storage box.

    Part#'s
    Cubby box - 64741-04011
    Box cover - 64073-04011

Of course this may be the most expensive route. The main reason for this is I would like to install one of those Expedition Essentials mount for the Twin ARB. I know they make a 12v adapter to run it on the passenger side, but doesn't look "as clean."

Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the mount - driver side vs passenger side. Has anyone installed an OEM cubby in the driver side of bed?

I’ve installed an EE compressor mount, you do need the OEM cubby and cover, since you have to cut the front most part of the OEM cover that goes on the outside. It works and I have a 20lb compressor that barely fit. I used the Mobtown metal front covers.

I’d definitely do it on the drivers side since the AC outlet is in the passengers side.

Still find it strange that they removed in from 2018 to 2019.

Just curious if you ever got an answer or were able to make something work to make a cubby and fit the arb compressor, I have a 2019 taco and would also like to do this very exact thing lol

Cost cutting, it's gone for good after 2018.

You can put it under the hood very easily since you have an OR

Oh thank you! I figured the engine bay would be the same in most v6 Tacomas. But I was hoping to go this route to hopefully use the engine bay for another battery, but I’d like to keep the passenger side cubby for rachet straps also. It’s a bummer Toyota did away with the driver side cubby

I just bought the oem cubby on eBay for about $50 shipped. Curious if anyone has gotten this installed. Going to be cutting the hole and putting the cubby back on my 2020.

Anyone know the bolts and nuts setup? I want to cut the hole out and set it up in an OEM way
