    Wonder how many miles those cars have on them by the time they get to the Dealer if getting flogged with full throttle dyno pulls? When I took delivery of my Tacoma it had 1 mile on the odometer, not bad considering being driven out of the Factory, loaded and unloaded on a Train and Transporter, and around the Dealership before I got it.

    Ive worked at a few dealers and the lowest I've ever seen was 1 mile. I'm on my 3rd taco and the last 2 came from Mexico even though I bought one in NY and one in MD. Texas just seems closer but they never have them around here.

    Yeah but your engine was flogged before it was even put in the truck!

    OP, they should be putting the truck on a flat bed and delivering it with the current mileage on it.

    He’s talking about gear and transmission break-ins, which is half true, moreso for the diff gears. (I have a nice pic of stock 3.91’s and they look fine - I didn’t do the manual break-in) You should be fine, just drive 55 all the way home instead and listen to tunes in your sweet new truck.

    Or,
    @bzzr2

    Has a damn good point

    I agree. If this was a Nissan GT-R or something it would be a different ball game.

    Many will disagree with this, but I've owned half a dozen new cars now and tbh break in period is not as big of a deal as some people make it out to be. Know what I do? I drive it like it is going to get driven its whole life, for the first 2k miles or so, change the fluids and check everything and move on with life. You don't have to do all that stupid bullshit like not towing with it, or never going above 75mph and all that nonsense. I've owned about 4 brand new sports cars with WAY tighter tolerances than toyota could ever make a tacoma and got my rush of dopamine from the day I got them,to the day I sold them and never had a single mechanical problem. Drive it like you plan to drive it every day, ifit cant handle that, then it wasnt a good product to begin with. Clearly this doesnt mean day 1 tow in reverse, have a pull off with a Silverado, take it dune jumping, and do 50 passes at the drag strip. Use your fucking head, it's all within common sense reason.
