2019 check engine & trac off

Bought a 2019 Tacoma in December. 3700 miles now.
•Check engine/trac off light came on.
•Dealership said a stored code, no explanation why, they just reset it 4/15/19. They kept vehicle all day.

•Happened again, dropped off Wednesday night 4/17/17 and picked up Friday night (4/19/19). They said it was fixed.

    Original gas cap.

I dropped the truck at dealership on 4-22-19 and they still have it. I have not heard from them today 4-27-19.

I did start a case with corporate. Had a guy put on my case. I told him Thursday how disgusted I am and that I wanted to put file a “lemon complaint.” He said he would submit it and it would take up to 45 days for a response. From that point on he said he could no longer work with me.

    Very unhappy!

Considering your erratic symptoms and what they've already replaced, I'm going to say foreign matter in the oil.
    Other causes could include...

They said something about camshaft and ordered some parts. The parts arrived Thursday evening I believe.

I asked the corporate technician if they could guarantee than once it was fixed, that this issue didn’t damage anything else. He said I had my warranty. I asked what if it causes a problem that doesn’t show up until 1 mile after warranty expires. His response was basically “tough shit.”

The code you popped is a 2-trip detection type; meaning lower priority. It also does not have an engine management fail-safe.
Mechanically it will override some things to prevent damage.
Point is, I don't think it's been compromised.

This is the exact same attitude that I got from Toyota. I feel your pain.

Just talked to the dealership and they said it would be ready tomorrow afternoon (4-30-19).

The problem has to do with the camshaft and the shop has never done this particular repair before.

The same thing happened to mine at 11,500 miles, except that I couldn't accelerate above idle without stalling. Had it towed to the nearest Toyota dealer where it spent 15 days getting repaired. In the end, they swapped out all the fuel injectors. Yesterday, it happened again at 12,500 miles almost 1 month after getting it back. Just got off the phone with the service rep and they are bringing a "Field Service Tech" to look at it because they cant figure it out. I love my truck man, but this is ridiculous.

Check your state Lemon laws. Most are similar with subtle differences. in Florida you need to meet one of three criteria:
    - 3 trip to the shop for the same issue within the first 2 years
    - 15 days in the shop with no fix. In this case you need to send a letter that states you are giving them a certain time period from receipt of said letter to fix the problem
    - 30 or more non-consecutive days in the shop for the same or various issues

I had opened a case with Toyota Customer Experience the first time and sent a letter demanding they fix the issue since it met the first criteria above. This time around i escalated the case to a tier 2 case manager and requested a buy out or MSRP swap before going the Lemon Law process... I'm waiting to hear back from them. If you are still having the issue and want me update you, ill be more than glad to do so.

This happened to me, too. I changed my spark plugs and of course left a vacuum hose disconnected. Bought a engine light tester, saw the codes p2441/5 and found the loose one and plugged it in. Meanwhile I accidentally pushed that little button next to the hood release which turns off traction control. So I had trac off and engine light came back. Then just disc battery to clear them.
