Tacos do not like speeds of 75-80 for good MPG. Last year I went cross country from Mass to Colorado with 1000# + gear and passengers. From Mass to Chicago (1080 miles) at 65 mph while in CC I averaged 23 mpg(verified). From Chicago to Denver (1070miles) at 75-80 mph speed limits while in CC I averaged 19.5 mpg. I though the flatter route of Chicago to Denver would be better mpg but I believe the Toyota is more tuned to 65 mph for better mpg.

I can't do better than 17.5, bone stock. Sounds like maybe I need to get the learning reset.

6 miles is probably barely enough time for the motor to warm up, you’re not going to get great gas mileage on short trips

It might be partially an issue of breaking in? how new is it? my 2014 4 banger auto, downshifts up slight grades all the time in cruise control, but it puts right along with my feathering the pedal. i do admit 5k in second going 70 is a bit unerving:annoyed: Might also be toyotas cruise control settings?

This is another dead horse thread!

regearing the truck is the answer. OVtune is gay.

4.88 or 5.29 end of story.
