So, now you aren’t allowed to race...not impressed with that ruling

 

Stewards just wrecked this race

 

That was total bullshit , way to ruin a race .

 

Terrible call, I liked seeing Vettel so pissed off after the race. Total zero f*cks given attitude and rightfully so

 

Wow, kinda harsh...

 

I hate when regulations ruin a good race. Terrible call. When these calls are this close, the only proper call is no call.

 

I'm actually torn on the Vettel penalty call. Forget for a moment that Hamilton and Merc benefited. Vettel did make a mistake under pressure, he did leave the track, and he did (unintentionally) prevent a pass by his opponent by coming back right into the racing line causing his opponent to stand on his brakes to avoid either being hit or going into the wall. That all feels like good hard racing which I want. But this isn't NASCAR so I can also sort of see it being an "unsafe reentry" or "gaining an advantage" after his own mistake. If it was a rookie or overly aggressive driver like Verstappen trailing Vettel they both would have probably crashed. Hopefully F1 honestly answers all the "WTF were the stewards" thinking questions over the next couple of days.

Edit - Holy crap, the stewards really didn't like it. They gave Vettel two points on his license too.

Here's a question , if that was rejoining the track in an unsafe manner then how exactly would Vettel rejoin the track in a safe manner from that position ?

 

There is the rub, isn't it? I think the answer is lift coming back onto the tarmac to stay left but that isn't hard racing.

 

He was on grass approaching the rejoin , he was a passenger at that point

 

Maybe the points were for the behavior at the end of the race?

 

I actually think the FIA is going to overturn this one

I was hoping, that Ham would have passed Vettel after the incident, that would have squelched all the noise...

 

This is what gets me the most

 

I was hoping Hamilton would have gone for a pass, and then Vettel seeing red...would have put him in the wall.

That 5 second penalty meant Ham just needed to stay close, ruining the rest of the race. He's smart enough to know not to go for pass with a pissed off Vettel behind the wheel lol

 

the penalty wasn't Ham's fault, Seb ran off the track on his own.....
