2019 Jbl Radio(Bluetooth) vs 2020+ Jbl radio(Carplay) Sound Quality

    Hi tacoma owners, which jbl radio sound quality is better the 2019 with just bluetooth(no carplay was built into the 2019 jbl radio) or the one from 2020+ with built in carplay.

    I don't think there is any difference. Plus it's most the speakers. They haven't done any change in them. Speaker up grade is what needs to be done. Few threads on this. Mine will get done this spring, along with sound deadening.

    They both sound terrible from the factory especially when marketed as ‘premium’ sound systems.

    Teeechnicallly.... any wired connection will have a better bitrate performance than bluetooth.


    Practically, the information transfer method is not the weak link in the truck's audio chain. Not by a long shot.

    Yeah, maybe the question should be, “which sounds worse?”. Bluetooth is going to seriously degrade an already not-so-great playback.
