Just got truck back from dealer, Had transfluid checked 1/2 at low. After all the past complaints by multiple owners over a couple years it shouldn't be. How hard is it after the tow package is in stalled (cooler and lines ) is it to refill the transmission. also asked about the hood glue points on the x frame support system and was told by the body shop people that this is expected if it were solid it would cause the hood would distort.??? Iwas glued

I’m not at all sure what you’re trying to say. What glue on the hood? Trans fluid 1/2 at low? Do you mean it was 1/2 quart low?

Yep was low on fluid, it has been a issue since 3rd generation came out . Would have thought it would have been fixed in 3 yrs. The hood is glued to to the underside bracing and the hood flexes/ moves at highway speeds. Has been discussed in past. Was told that if the glue held it would cause the hood to wrinkle the outer surface. my 16 was low 1 qt+ low both were made in Mexico

Not sure about the glue thing, but the transfluid thing could very well create a shit storm here. After all, it's Friday. I'm just sayin'.

I don’t think the low fluid is a problem. I had a 2016 for over three years no trans problems. I haven’t heard of a plague of transmission problems in the three years plus I have been watching this forum. I’m sure Toyota knows about this and doesn’t think it’s a serious problem. Haven’t checked the fluid on my 2019 and not worried about it.
