2019 NASCAR thread

Other than the 17 screwing the 9 on the last two restarts I agree. The 19 deserved that race, I would have been pissed if the 22 pulled that one off. Good race.

 

What Nascar has done to these cars is a crime . They can go into a corner completely sideways and straighten it out and never even lift . They can hit the wall hard at 180 and win the race . They blow tires out going into a corner and just go up graze the wall and finish top 10 . I dont watch races to see wrecks I like to see good driving and hard charging . It used to be if you messed up you paid the price . You don't even see donuts on doors hardly anymore . I still enjoy it and not sure why I'm complaining maybe it's because my guy didnt win anyway see what happens next week .

 

the indy 500 was so much more compelling than the 600. They need to dump the stage racing and go back to running a real race

 

^^^^ what was that other stage for ? So they could come in and get a drink I guess . They used to lose up to 15 pounds in a race , they had to earn it .

 

i guess they needed to squeeze in an extra patriotic moment. I missed it, but a red flag at stage break two so they could have a moment of silence. Shouldn't they do that before the race? durp.

a race should always be green unless their is a crash or debris on the track. fuck sakes boys

 

I saw a suggestion on R/NASCAR today that now that NASCAR and ISC have merged, they should strongarm the Indy 500 to move to Saturday so more drivers can do the double. What even the heck?! Move the 600, if anything. To me, the 600 is the least important of the three races on the Holy Day of Racing.

 

Sunday was an awesome day of racing, every race was great and they all had thrilling endings.

 

Actually Monaco is since the polesitter always wins...

 

Heard a rumor they want to try hybrid cars in 2021... Ill fucking leave and never watch again if they do.

 

Truth. Toyota pushing hard for them to go this route so they have a platform to market the next gen Prius... and Ford is cool with it seeing how they have a Focus Energi they want to plug as well.

GM is trying to have calmer heads prevail. They actually like selling extra Camaros on Monday.

Electric racing will be a thing at some point in the near future. Will it take over gas powered, time will tell. Space racing before we know it.

 

I read an article where the nascar cars will be unmaned on day -- remote controlled .

To be honest Toyota has pissed me off here the last few years... Got rid of all 2 door trucks, they dont have a real sports car (the 86 is the slowest POS on the road and the supra is a BMW). Their love for hybrids and the push for it in nascar has my next purchase going to someone else.

 

Ferrari's are hybrid. F1 is hybrid. LeMans/WEC is hybrid. All pinnacles of motorsports. I still think they're pretty cool. Going fast is going fast. Don't matter the propulsion, it's still a thrill.

Those aren't nascar... But guess this is why late models are better... Simole engines and no hybrid Bullshit and less aero.
