Aren’t decibels measures on a different scale? Each increase is near double the previous measurement, so 2 is near twice as loud as 1.

Kinda... but it's more complicated than that. I'm big into car audio so I know a thing or two about this.

Your average jet plane flying directly above=130db

A truck revving an engine with performance exhaust = 100 to 105 db. Stock roughly 80db

My system at the moment = 138.8db

Removed exhaust versus performance muffler... 3-5 db difference with a 10-20hp swing.

Best way I can explain that.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
With the computers and emissions on anything built in the last 10 years I would struggle to do anything to an exhaust short of bolt on cat back kits or a full aftermarket system that is designed to work with the electronics on the vehicle. I have an old school way of thinking but I could not justify buying a sports car without the largest engine option available. It's like buying a full size pickup with a V6, I know with turbo's and everything they are making power but I will stick with displacement until it is no longer an option. When I purchased the Silverado the sales guy kept taking me to crew cabs then I would pop the hood and see a 4.3 and I was like nope, I told you I am only interested in one with a 5.3 because I have owned a few and get 200K out of them. I do not want a Silverado with a 4.3 and now they are using a turbo 2.7 I4 in the crew cab Silverado for a lot of the 2020 trucks.

I have seen a handful of F150's out here in the heat sitting on the side of the road with 10K pounds hooked to them because they smoked a turbo and are left with a 3.5 or 2.7 to try and pull a hill. FUCK THAT!

It's certainly evolving tech, for sure. This first decade of small-displacement engines combined with pump gas turbos is the R&D phase. Unfortunately, the consumer is paying for the R&D with the only consolation being that they have a lifetime warranty on the turbos.

This weekend is a the best chance the #9 has at setting himself up for Homestead. The 11 is going to be tough to beat but Chase has a crew chief that owned that place with Gordon for years.

Just because they're available doesn't mean doesn't mean they're worth any kind of crap

No. My boss was meant to go and meet some customers, however he had to go to Saudi at the last minute, so my wife and I got to go. it was a really great 3 days.
I can understand why a lot of people bought BBQ’s with them for after the race. Traffic to get out was tough. We went to the casino for dinna instead. Pretty cool place

The Magnaflow race series is an axle back without a muffler but tuned to retain the hp

That... would be a performance exhaust.

Much different than just deleting a muffler.

I was at that race. It was a great day for sure. I hate fagano and was a Gordon fan. That place went crazy when Matt dumped his ass.
