I really like Jayski, but do feel like they’ve slipped some since ESPN bought them.

Motorsport.com isn’t bad. They seem more apt to post rumors than Jayski has been.

Who is watching the Hall Of Fame induction Friday night? Good class this year. But I will say, although I liked Davey Allison, with him getting in, that pretty much locks Dale JR in as well, without having a Championship.

A few additions to make me feel cool.
It's funny that people feel Jr is not deserving of the HOF. I mean the guy carried the sport for 15 years like it or not you wouldn't be watching NASCAR today without him.

Very true, he did carry the sport. But if you base the Hall Of Fame on stats alone, he wouldn't get in, yes he has a couple Daytona 500's, consecutive win streak at Dega, but that's about it.

He actually gets in on his Busch series accomplishments alone but I agree he was not his father. Not the best driver but carried 10 times the weight any others driver ever has. All in all his record at Daytona and Dega alone are 2nd to only his dad. I get it but he is deserving of the HOF for his body of work. He spent the majority of his career in the BS Chase format so that counts also. I mean is JJ a better driver, no he had CK. You can't count someone's abilities based on championships.

Lots of people forget Kyle B had a hard time winning in that car at HMS too.

They were certainly equally loved among fans. I’d say young Davey brought a whole generation of women into the sport. In a garage of Balding, bug-eyed, chinless, pot-belly drivers (and that’s just the Bodine Bros!), Davey was the young stud, post Tim Richmond. He was down to earth, and the previous generation grew up with him scrapping around the garage. I still meet older women who go on and on about Davey. I was a fan as a kid, but Bill was my #1.

I was thinking the same thing. Jr. had no influence on my following the sport. Actually this thread has done more to keep me into the sport.

LOL... Leave it to you to lighten the mood. The point was that the sport would not be as healthy today if it were not for Jr. Like it or not NASCAR would have gone back to being a regional sport without him. That might have been for the better though.

Jr gave fans someone to latch on to, kept easily half the fans engaged.

I posted this over on r/nascar last night and it blew up. It's a fresh Penske Mustang body all dotted up for LIS. I took a lot of shots at the shop yesterday:
