    Not enough to have a build thread.
    Looks amazing. Wheeling in a white out is lots of fun IMO. Recovery, not so much. But if you have traction, Git Sum!

    Playing in the snow was fun, the recovery not so much. :D

    Hope to see everyone out on another snow run this year. More playing in the snow and less recoveries.:D

    Nope. After almost two hours to recover fully, the trucks were aligned in reverse order that we came in. That meant Rob (no lockers)was in the lead with Jody behind him. Then me and John. We knew by the amount of snow falling that we had to get the hell out of dodge before we all got stuck. But Rob got stuck right away. Then Jodys locker wouldn't engage and he got stuck trying to get Rob unstuck. We got Rob loose with treds, then Jody the same. Then I made a bold move, risking another chance of getting into the ditch, to go around Jody and Rob, so as to lead the way, with lockers engaged. Didn't make it around Rob, but got right alongside. Crossed my fingers, and backup up a few feet, then got rolling forward, and put the pedal to the metal, plowed through, and just squeaked around Rob to get in front. Got everyone lined up, and off we went. Blizzard like conditions, and just hammered down in low range back to Bassetts. I dared not think about the possibility of being stuck up there. I guess I could have walked to 49 and flagged down a CalTrans snowplow.

    Or we could have resorted to cannibalism. :)

    I don’t understand what happened.
    Were there no winches?
    Ill prepared for the conditions?
    Lack of winter weather driving skills/knowledge?
    What was so difficult?
    Just doesn’t appear to be all that much snow.

    Not sure what you think Caltrans would do for you? They have their own jobs to do and that’s keeping the roads open, not wasting time on recoveries of people playing in the snow


    I’m definitely looking forward to going to play in the snow soon
