It didn't slip off. Just cleaned up and found a cut. I will just use the OEM clamps since my buddy has the tool for those.

Usually with the lifts the boot stretch either loosens or slips off.
My case was they loosen and scatter grease.

I have two cv boots on the shelf in my garage. Thought I was going to need them. Didn’t. I’ll sell them to you if you need some. I don’t. Probably after I sell them I’ll need them. Murphys Law.

Late edit: hmmmm are try the same for second and third gen?

Are they still soft to touch though? :D
Not sure if they are the same. Are they OEM? Do you have the part number? I can call the stealership and find out. If they are the same, I will take them.

I love Usal. How's the road in right now? Plan on going with the wifey soon. Haven't been in years. I almost lost a work truck to the ocean there, literally. Dodge ram I shouldn't of have been driving, turned to close to the ocean, got stuck. Took a couple hours of digging , carrying rocks, lowering tire pressure, etc with no progress. As the tide was coming in and waves were crashing my back tires a young dood in a four runner pulled up with a winch and saved my ass. Inexperienced, young, dumb, and drunk. I cant wait to winch others out. I owe a major debt. Especially at Usal.

A couple muddy spots but pretty easy. I saw a couple Subaru's down there. I aired down just for extra comfort.

When I first got my '86 4runner I took it out to the North Jetty on Humboldt Bay, made it way down the beach and got stuck. Turns out the 4x4 wasn't working due to a locked up hub. Spent the next few hours digging myself into the safety of the dunes.

So I fixed the hub, went back out to the jetty, and first thing I did was pull someone out whose 4x4 wasn't working. Felt real nice.
