Ah, they left Wednesday and we left the next day after I got off work. It's funny, the road has gotten worse but still lots of people in there. The amount of Razrs, Can-Ams, etc has blown up recently - always pulling out because there's a group of 5+ cruising through.

We didn't make it all the way over to your side of the lake once we were set-up. I was worried you were a guy that got mad at us - dude had a boat in the bed of his truck and didn't turn out at any point and then tossed his hands up when we finally got to go around him.

Haha, no way. First come first serve up there. The evolution of the Trail-Nats has forsure roughed up the roads and brought more people out there, even the bridge being out hasnt stopped anyone (although washington locals are probably mad at the traffic, the little general store is probably happy with the traffic/income). I feel like there is ALOT more people up there these days compared to even 5 years ago, but maybe i was just getting lucky all those years. Camping and "Overlanding" has also gotten very popular in recent years (maybe we could blame social media?) We had a Tundra going 5mph that would NOT get out of our way on friday, i was definitely annoyed at him lol. If someone CATCHES UP TO YOU its clear they were going faster than you and it is common courtesy to pull to the side and let them pass. Sadly, common courtesy is not so common anymore.

Them Quads have been getting unreal up there for the past 5+ yrs now.

They tend to slow down seeing a massive front bumper coming at them at fast speeds.

Looking for suggestions on a camping spot near Saratoga Springs in September I am heading up that way for work and I’ve never been up there camping. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Iv’e heard about it. One of these years I’ll get there. Other than getting dropped off by a helicopter. Then I found out where I was a few years later.

Never been there, but I did see it in one of those guidebooks and pulled the route data into Gaia in case I ever get over there: https://www.gaiagps.com/public/hCa5ZEmH2zqAHIUdbDU0SCj8

No problem. I bought a couple of useful books last year with a bunch of trails in 'em and found some 4WD club websites and random forum posts with more. When I'm watching TV in the evening sometimes I'll dump 'em into Gaia for future reference. My California map is getting pretty damn full. :D

When backpacking farther in, I've walked across the spillway, not too dicey, once with my late dog over 15 years ago. Got him in the water and let him swim while I negotiated around the concrete pillars. No or little water flowing at those times.

@Fernando im down for the rubicon IF i get my sliders from BAMF in time. Ill have all my skids by then. Later August would increase the liklihood of me going. But dont hold up for me. Im just the noob.

    Big Balls - check
Fully armored by rubicon date - TBD
