    Hi all.

About 2 weeks ago my automatic 2019 Off-road with 42k miles got stuck in park. I could move the gear selector into any gear but the transmission wouldn’t go into gear. I tried 3 or 4 on/off cycles and trying to rock it to make sure it wasn’t the parking brake somehow interfering with it didn’t seem to help. After the 4th power cycle I shifted into gear it still didn’t seem to find it and then SLAMMED into drive. 1 light flashed on the dash for a second before turning off. The truck has been running poor since and having a hard time hunting for gears and the engine seems to rev up to about 4k before it sort of clunks into gear. I have an appointment tomorrow with my service dealership and on the phone they think it may need a new transmission.

Has anyone had similar problems? I’m worried they’re going to say it’s fine and it will have issues once the power train warranty is up.

Something similar literally happened to me this morning except mine went into gear but didn't want to move, almost like if the diff was seized up or the rear brakes were stuck on. I finally got it to move by shifting around and it made a loud thud lol

Are you sure the emergency brake wasn’t stuck?
Did you use it? Rain, carwash, or any other moisture?

I actually had the same happen. Believe it or not it was a dead battery. Changed the battery (Left the cables off to reset the computer) and it was fine again.
