Long story short I have taken my 2019 AC OR into the dealership four times for a clunking/popping sound when going over or down medium to large speed bumps and driveways. They replaced the front body mount bushing on the third time around. The bushing was definitely failing (see picture) and I thought that would solve the problem but the noise is still there.

This most recent time they kept it over night to try and diagnose. Basically they ended up telling me "its normal." They couldn't give me a straight answer as to why it was making the noise. The best they could come up with is that it could be the brake pads shifting. They drove two other trucks from the same year that were already on the lot and they claim that those trucks also made the same noise.

I'm going to go back tomorrow to hear that noise for myself on those other trucks, but in the meantime has anyone else experienced this problem?

Sorry if that was too long needed to give backstory.

EDIT: I have swapped out the stock bilstein suspension for the foxes that come on the pro and the noise seems to have gone away:fingerscrossed:

I had what sounds like a similar noise from my 18. It was a loose bolt on the skid plate, it wasn’t tightened all the way after an oil change.

When you say front body mount, are the replacing the ones right behind the front tire? Or the radiator support?

They said it was my skid plate the second time. That has been replaced as well.

That's beyond my wheelhouse, although those look like rad mounts to me.

I feel like these trucks do things like that and it’s frustrating. My Tundra had a level of fit and finish that the Tacoma is missing. The Tacoma is like a grating younger brother that gets away with everything. Good luck finding the noise.

I have clicking over bumps too. I think its either the rear leafs or maybe the transmission/driveline

Not sure exactly what part. All it says on the paper is "break pad shift."

When I drove with the tech while he was listening for the noise he was explaining how theres a pin that runs through the break and that could be it but all that was over my head to be honest.

They said it was the leafs the first time but the noise is 100% from the front. Transmission/driveline is a new one, I will look into that. Thanks!

Yeah, mine is more of a metallic sound. Try to get some sound or video of it if possible.

Pad shift is when u back up, hit the brakes, the go forward and hit the brakes again, the pads will clack as they shift forward (or vice versa). Have em check core support bushings. That's what I replaced. Can't remember if that was the cause of the noise or if it was my foxes though.
