I just found paint bubbles and rust break through on my 2019 Tacoma off road. It is only 5 years old, and paint bubbling on hood right above headlight. Asked dealer about it, he said no open campaigns or recalls on it. What should my next step be? Should and how should I contact Toyota?
    Thanks
    Barry

My 2017 in Barcelona Red Tacoma started having paint issues at 30000 miles but was out of warranty and they wont repair it. Truck is garage kept. Always kept clean and never driven in the Ohio winters. Everything is super clean including the frame but the damn paint is separating over the one door frame (very early stages) and I can see early stages of this as well on the hood. If you don't look you don't see it right now so I am leaning towards letting the truck go and buying another old project to play with. This truck was my retirement present so I wouldn't have to restore old cars anymore and could just do mods on this one. If I'm gonna have to repaint something I may as well go back to restoring another old truck. Its sad because I really liked the truck but Toyotas customer service sucks. We had other problems with the them with our other vehicles. Recently added a Mazda CX5 and we are getting ready to see what Honda has to offer like the Ridgeline. Toyotas were in my driveway since 1991.

I have the same issue with my hood - paint lifting and rust breaking through. Also signs of rust on the underside where the hood panel wraps around. Right along the panel seam. Just waiting for a repair estimate. The shop owner says it looks like the seam sealer failed, water got in and the rest was just a matter of time.

The hood was painted 2 years ago so I'm not ruling out a bad prep job either. I know there were rock chips in those areas. The shop that painted the hood wouldn't even consider looking at it under their "lifetime" warranty. I'm not really upset by that though. Big name local shop with catchy radio and TV advertisements that do crap work. Wasn't impressed with them so I'm taking the truck elsewhere.

Paint coming off around my rear driver window, there is an open recall but they won't do anything because there is not a "resolution". Pisses me off, and frankly I chose not to buy my fiance a Land Cruiser and I didn't get a Supra because it left a bad taste in my mouth.

First I’ve heard of the 2019 having paint issues minus it being white. My 19’s paint is perfect except the occasional rock chip which I quickly correct. But I’m also one of those weird guys who actually cleans his door jams, under the hood all those pesky nooks and crannies. Seems if you do those things more often you run into less problems. Plus I live in a state that has brutal cold winters so I’d like my truck to last not buying another got too good of a deal on this one.
