Airbags rear. Wheels. Roof rack Armor lid.Lightbars and bull bar.battery bank and 2nd inverter.geo fence and tracker.

    Typical car industry business strategy.

    Such as Ford and Mazda
    Dodge and Mitsubishi
    Chyrsler and Mercedes...well sort of.

Its just a bit weird that its not an "across the pond" type of arrangement as it has traditionally been observed. Even if Toyotas are manufactured here.

This began between Subaru BRZ and Totota 86...the same year the BRZ was released(cars take time to design technically it would have been a few years earlier.) The Outback and Toyota small suvs have been morphing into one another since I think it was 2016.

Toyota owns a portion of Fuji. Subaru is great at making low center gravity engines. Platform cars are here to stay and probably taking over.
The Tacoma will probably never be affected. If it is it will be Toyotas tech dominating that particular project.....just look at your beautiful truck.

I have been wondering, why are there two different bumper & grill combinations?

One looks more like a T4R and the other a Tacoma.

I thought Toyota, was trying to streamline production and cut production costs.

When they say that, It sounds like a BS excuses to keep prices current, and limit the options that are available.

Should be the same for the Sequoia. A sharp looking baby momma bus could give the Tahoe a real run for its money

Got the wife one of the Adventure models in red 2 weeks ago. Not my Taco but it handles the really bad dirt/muddy roads and 6 inches of new snow that just fell around our place in mountains of NM, Driver seat fully adjusts, and front seats/steering wheel are heated and very comfortable. Can put a good load of stuff in back. Has a really sturdy roof rack I wouldn't hesitate to mount a RTT on. Really good stero. Power not great but adequate...can pass a car going uphill at 7500 feet Alt easy and corners great with the Dynamic Torque Vectoring All Wheel Drive (think that is what you call it)...and it gets twice the gas milage and more than my 2016 Taco. Won't be doing any overlanding with it but definitely some back road day trips. Saves my Taco for the really fun stuff and she won't be borrowing ky Taco because SHE LOVES HER NEW RAV4!...wife is really happy...enough said.

Most toyotas have two grille designs

Started with 4runner. One is aggressive, other is limited for the AARP crowd

    Avalon has two also

    So does rav4

Looks Lexus NXish from the rear. I think the darker colors look really good.

Regardless of what the non target demo(truck people) think they sold a shit ton of 2018 rav4 I think like 400k and plan on and will sell 500k in 2019. So might not be truck persons cup of tea but a lot of people obviously like them, btw how many Tacoma and tundra together did Toyota sell last year? I think somewhere around 320k, they know where they make their money.
