One of my buddies just got a fully loaded 2019 Ridgeline and after spending some time in it, I must admit I'm pretty impressed with the vehicle. Although it's not a true 'truck' for many who don't need the off road 4x4 functionality, it's a great alternative. I really like the truck bed storage and think the bed speakers are a nice touch. Flame on, fellas.

I've only heard great things about it. I would never buy one, because to me it's not a truck, and I want a capable truck. But for those who take it for what it is, it's pretty awesome. It's extremely reliable, really nice interior, and does what it's meant for. It's an SUV with a bed, not a truck. It's for the suburban dad who does a lot of home improvement and can haul things from Home Depot.

The biggest problem with this site is that we act like the ridgeline is supposed to be a truck. Take it for what it is man. It's not going to take the trails on or haul a giant trailer. The guys who buy it know that and don't need a real pick up truck. The ridgeline is really nice for what it is.

Only thing uglier is a Pontiac Asstech, maybe a PT cruiser.

The last Ridgeline was better imo. They should have stuck with that body style and tweaked it while adding the changes they did. The new body is way too low to the ground.

I agree, I wouldn't get one either. My wife has a 2016 Honda Pilot and to me the Ridgeline is the Pilot without a roof on the back. Like you said, it meets the needs of those who want a truck like experience but don't need a real truck. I too have only heard good things about it.

My father has a Honda Pilot, that thing is sweet. Fantastic gas mileage with a ton of space and good AWD system. Toyota will have its hands full if Honda decides to directly compete in the pick up truck market.

Honestly though, few factors that make me still love the Tacoma. 1 availability of MT, off road capable, looks significantly better.

    Like, so many.
I wouldn’t openly mock someone for having a Ridgeline, but I would secretly judge them.

Subaru is making a Ridgeline style truck next year. My wife's Forester is a capable CUV. But they are not rock crawlers.

My brother actually use to drive one and honestly was pretty nice. Funny though he had an exhaust done by a local shop and that puppy sounded just like a little v-tech civic. But it moved around pretty quick and was pretty damn nice haha

The Ridgeline is a great vehicle. Not a truck, not a car, not a SUV. It's basically the El Camino of our time, except it will haul more than our trucks lol.
It is in it's own classification.

My buddy always called mine an El Camino. They move around great in traffic, like a car.

    They’re just hideous to me.

Which is a shame because I’m sure they are nice, reliable, ride well and are functional (they’re Honda’s after all)—but my god it is abysmal looking. Like the Pilot was cut in half or the Odyssey. The ground clearance is horrendous. If you really don’t need a truck and just strictly want a bed I get it but even with that I would just never feel right driving around in a fake truck. But I know Honda has a certain demographic they make that vehicle for so I’m sure they know what they’re doing but I just can’t help but judge the men I see driving them. I’m sorry. It’s just human nature.

I come from a smaller rural town and if I ever came back driving a Ridgeline I might be forbidden from coming back.

Side note: I sometimes wonder how Honda could do if they actually manufactured a real “truck”.
