It can be disabled through the system by a dealer. The biggest challenge is to find a dealer that will do it. You can also look into Carista, many thing you can change at home with that.

When I took my 2018 in for the 5K service I asked the girl at one of the service desks about shutting off the seat belt chime. She said no way.

I was sitting outside when the service dude brought my truck back out. Told him I wish I could have the chime turned off. He hopped back in my truck, drove it back in the shop and disabled it.

Best bet is to talk to a mechanic instead of the service desk people.

If you have a laptop you can purchase the TechStream software, plug it into your truck and make the adjustments from my understanding.

I used Carista. You can also use tech stream but that’s more work to get set up (but can be done for free)

You can get a seat belt extender and leave that buckled in, I know a few cops and other people that do that.

Just curious, why would you want to disable the seat belt alarm?

If you use your truck for multiple stops getting in and out a lot, such as on a farm, it is nice to not have that noise. Or while backing your boat down the ramp or pulling the boat out of the water, you dont want to buckle up because you will be getting right back out.

It's very easy to get a working copy of TechStream for free if you just look around these forums or elsewhere on the interwebz.

You can download Carista for free.
Buy a OBDII Reader for like $10-20.
I bought the BAF-X one from Amazon for $17. Easy to use app. Turns right off.

I got mine done at the dealer when it was in for free maintenance. They were hesitant, but I pointed out that the owner's manual lists it as one of the options that can be done by the dealer. I actually told them I wanted the passenger one disabled for when I set a heavy bag on the seat.
I'm guessing the passenger and driver ones are hooked up together because both chimes were disabled. However, the dash light still flashes if the driver's seat belt is not on.

You got lucky. Most have been denying owner's even though the manual states that. They say it's a liability. Even if you agreed to sign any type of waiver. They are just afraid to do it. It's not that they're hooked up together. They are independent but can also work in unison. Passenger side sensing weight and alarm chime when it senses a "body" in the seat without the seatbelt.

With Carista you can undo both chimes or just driver.
Passenger is an option and only $20
    Simple and cheap,
