Posted this in the audio forum.. Figured Id get more responses here though.

Ive looked but cant seem to find (or understand is probably the better term) I have the basic radio in my truck now. Id like to upgrade to a better factory radio. Will the higher trim models plug right in? I do have the shark fin on the roof. Does this mean I already have the XM and GPS antenna under the dash? If not, What will I need? Will it all plug right in or will I need to do some wire splicing? Also Im guessing I would need a new dash piece? In the off chance somebody in or around TN has done this swap before and would be willing to help.. that would be even better.

I am not opposed to going with an aftermarket radio.. I just want to be able to use the steering wheel controls. I also thought if I went up to a higher lever trim radio I might be able to use additional features on the truck

I picked up my Kenwood and Maestro RR unit all through Cructhfield. Got everything from them and install myself...no splicing wires...all plug and play when you get their install kits. If you have the cash and want a few more features I'd recommend that route.

    ...or get yourself a 2020 Tacoma SR5+ ;)

I would just go aftermarket for that amount of cash, but if you really prefer Entune then that doesn't sounds like a bad price.

I got the HU for $529.99 at crutchfield but bundled it with everything else I wanted for the complete plug and play install. Since they offer all that and support I was happy with the price.

Ok thanks for the tip, I am going to back off for now unless I get a great price on Entune with GPS. The Crutchfield can wait and now I know it is there for options. Take it Lite....

Sharpshooter; I know this is an old thread, I assume you prob had your questions answered by now, I just wanted to put in my 2 cents if anyone else comes across this thread. Yes, the entune OEM radio is plug and play. I used a 2017 unit that had gps and sirrus radio (my original was just am/fm/cd). I had to get a sirrus radio antenna (which is magnetic on roof) and gps antenna which goes under dash (not seen after install) I wanted the OEM because I wanted everything to work with my steering wheel controls, it also interfaces with the display on the dash, ie gps turns appear on the dash as well as on radio display. I got my radio from ebay for I think $500 bucks. I am very happy with it. One question I still have, I have the shark fin antenna, but can not find the termination point to hook to. I had a 2010 tacoma and the termination point was down on left at my foot, but cant find it on my 2019. For now, until I get my question answered I am just using a magnetic one on the roof.
