So I finally bit the bullet and sold my 1999 lil taco (live on little guy :hattip:)with 250K and bought the 2019 TRD 4x4 off-road Tacoma with 0 miles on the odometer.

Iv'e already got the modifying bug:help: and I am looking for parts and small stuff to start making it into the perfect truck for me (hard to improve on whats already perfect IMO, can I get an amen. :amen:).

I have browsed the interwebs and haven't found much information on what they changed if anything.

Really the question im trying to figure out is if it is safe to assume that the 2018 parts on the market will work for the 2019 model. The dealership didn't have much to say about this subject when I asked them, typical, don't want a lawsuit for providing incorrect information blah blah blah. :jerkoff::puke:

Has anyone dug into this? Buying a truck from the future does have it's unknowns. :notsure:

i compared spec sheets and the only difference i saw was 2 additional usb ports on the 2019 4wd-or vs 2018 4wd-0r
that being said i took advantage of the $3-4k difference and got a 2018 a week ago

Thats a a smsll change for the price difference.. Picked mine up for 34K, the 2018 was going to be about the same price in my situation.

Calvary blue got added. Welcome to the world of Toyota, small incremental changes / color options. They have no issues selling them the way they are. Mod away. Congrats on new truck.

That blue though.... I was pretty close the snagging that but my heart is stuck on the cement grey. Yeah I mean, why would they change something that already works and will be worth basically the same price 5 years from now.. My 1999 single cab with 250k had 48 offers and sold in less than 24 hours from when I posted it. Toyota really has this brand thing figured out.

I think its a bit of a trendy color, cement was the right choice. I just got first dibs on a voodoo blue pro here in AZ and passed, don't think I could do that blue everyday for the next handful of years, MGM works just fine for me.

I too went for a 2019 off Road and have some questions as to what has changed.
So from the little research I've done, it sounds like it won't be a problem using a 2018 TRD pro grill for the 2019's...? Anyone else have insight on this?

Don’t see why. I have my knockoff grill in the box awaiting the truck.

One other thing different in the ‘19’s, they did away with the little storage box in the left side of the bed

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. There is a reason why Toyota doesn't go over board if it is a hit. I know that a lot of folks want stuff changed and updated,
But if they do too much, the price will get out of range for Average Andy.

I thought it was impossible to get a car with zero miles on the odo.
