I'm guessing this issue has probably been posted a billion times. Tried to look up slow, lag, performance, etc and can't find the right keyword.

My father in law recently passed and left behind a 2019 Taco SR5 V-6, 2wd. Enjoy the truck except anytime anything approaching getting going (ie onramp) is involved. At that point I'm pretty sure my 13 yo cocker spaniel could jump out and beat the truck to 60. Up until this weekend I thought it was a 4 cyl. I'm not looking for Porsche perf but is there something out there (chip, tune, whatever) that can give her a bit more ummph?

    Thanks

    Sorry for your loss.

Turn the ECT button on, and don't be afraid to put your foot in it.

It likes the higher revs, don't be skurred.

I have zero issues getting up to 60 mph, and my Tacoma looks like this:

Give it some skinny pedal. It ain't gonna hustle you around at 1,800 rpm's

    Sorry for your loss.

There are quite a few options on here for tunes, pick your poison.

Personally, I'd suggest you buy the vF tuner kit that way you can try out tunes you're interested in and/or you can make your own. If you go the route of building your own, there are a handful of threads with generic edits that were/are popular. And if that's not enough or if you have questions, you can always feel free to shoot me a message. I'm always willing to help.

Sounds like you need to put your foot down harder on the skinny peddle Opie.
There are tunes, I’m running KDmax and it helps, but more on reducing the gear hunting than rapid acceleration. Mine is on the heavier side and it’s plenty quick when I’m in the 4500+ rpm range.

Also, it is a truck not a race car, but the engine needs to rev to make power. Very little low end torque in the 3.5l.

It's a well-known fact that Honda hacked the 2019 model year production to boost sales of the Ridgeline. Toyota fixed it for the 2020 and on. Just trade it. Or get a tune.

Use premium gas, and change the oil very 5K and you’re good to go.

Have it tuned with KD Max Pro + tune. That will solve your problems. @TWTaco can help you find a tuner in your area. Search that topic in this forum for more information. Good luck.

But ya OP you need to use more skinny pedal than in most other trucks because the stock tune is bad. It has power you just need to smack it harder.

It's not as bad as people make it out to be. However, a simple workaround is to search Google, but include "TacomaWorld" in the search terms.

Nope, just one of dozens and dozens of thread about premium not making up on stock trucks. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/premium-gas.766136/
Changing oil does not make horsepower.

My truck sees huge horsepower gains after oil changes. The key is to do them often. 3K if you can afford it.
